Position Summary:
We are looking for a FrontDeskClerk who will be responsible for assisting in the overall administration of the center which includes but is not limited to the following: crowd control and management of the lobby area, professional use of phones, membership registration, documentation of member and staff attendance, distribution of program information to youth, parents and visitors, and other administrative duties as assigned by the center director.
What you'll do:
With guidelines established by the center director, and with the support of the assistant director and office manager, provide direction to all people entering and using the building with respect to the appropriate use of the facility, especially the first-floor area, copy/coat room, and administrative office.
From the clerk registrar's station and lobby area, assist the center director and program coordinator in the distribution of information to staff, youth, visitors, and parents.
From the clerk registrar's station and with the assistance of the office manager, ensure that all staff, youth employment workers, teen center and adult night members, and volunteers sign-in appropriately. Also, notify the center director, program coordinator or office manager of lateness and absenteeism.
Under the director of the office manager, following systems to track member registration and attendance.
Monitor the professional use of phones and provide direction to staff and youth when necessary.
Qualifications

Professional communication skills, both oral and written.
Ability to interact professionally and effectively with staff, volunteers, program members, parents, community residents, visitors, and vendors.
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
Familiarity and compliance with office protocols involving dress, demeanor, record keeping, confidentiality, staff meetings, visitors, and employee use of supplies and equipment.
A minimum of a high school diploma and demonstrated an interest in the pursuit of further education in administration and/or human service. Associate's preferred.
A minimum of two years of professional paid work experience in a non-profit youth or social service agency in an administrative capacity.
Compensation: $17.00 - $17.50 Per Hour

About Your Compensation
Compensation for this position starts at $17.00/Hour and, with demonstrated experience and qualifications, candidates may earn up to $19.00/Hour.
About Your Work Day
Welcomes each hotel guest with energy and positivity. Serves as an “information center” by demonstrating knowledge of Chautauqua Institution and the historic Athenaeum Hotel, including the location of amenities, hours of operation, information on programming, special events, activities, and pricing.
Check guests in/out of the hotel and/or print gate, theater, or opera tickets for in-house guests.
Sell hotel rooms and make reservations using established selling procedures and yield management techniques.
Addresses guest requests and concerns immediately and always with a professional attitude.
Communicate effectively with management, colleagues, and other departments about guest needs and requests.
Provides safety and security for the hotel and its guests. Follows the hotel key control procedures at all times.
Operate POS system to complete reservations, purchases, process cash or credit payment, and provide hotel guests with proper sales receipts and change for cash transactions. Responsible for cash drawer and daily reconciliation.
Ensure accurate records of sales transactions and/or refunds in accordance with resort and department policies.
Demonstrates thorough understanding of hotel equipment used at the frontdesk. Ensures the hotel equipment, such as fax machines, copiers, and the POS system are maintained properly and secured.
Maintain knowledge of Institution and Hotel policies regarding payment, exchanges, and security practices.
Use proper telephone etiquette to answer/hold/transfer calls, take complete messages, and make reservations.
Keep workstation clean and free of debris by performing light housekeeping duties as assigned.
About the Referral Program
Chautauqua Institution's Referral Bonus Program is a talent solution to recruit, develop, and retain a diverse workforce that encompasses all the skills and experience necessary to deliver on our goals and objectives. About Your Schedule

Program Description: Goddard Riverside Community Center operates five early childhood centers for working families and their children aged 2 to 5. Each center facilitates classroom activities that promote intellectual, social, emotional, and physical growth through the hands-on exploration of science, nature and art.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30am-6:00pm (hours vary) (35 hrs/week)
Hourly Rate: $17.00/hr
Qualifications
Roles, Responsibilities, and Essential Duties
Distribute memos to parents and staff via “mailboxes”.
Complete monthly Enrollment & attendance reports for DOE & Head Start
Complete weekly CACFP Meal Count for CACFP reimbursement.
Maintain Family and staff contact information
Assist in the classroom as needed.
Receive and direct calls to staff. Take and deliver appropriate phone messages.
Receive and distribute deliveries/ supplies.
Interact with parents and teaching staff in a professional manner; provide them with accurate information and direct them to appropriate staff when necessary.
Respect the confidentiality of children, staff, and parents, as many personal documents will flow through this area.
Maintain Children's medication logs and allergy lists.
Complete typing and/or translation in a timely fashion.
Work cooperatively with Family Worker in the maintenance of child files and other related paperwork.
Update bulletin boards with area information/resources/events.
Expected to communicate with NYCHA and all maintenance staff.
Maintain all ECE Social Media accounts
Assist with the ECE Newsletter
Other tasks as needed by Site Director
Qualifications:
Computer savvy
Knowledgeable in Word and Excel
Excellent writing skills a must
Procare knowledge a plus
Knowledge of NYS immunization requirements.
Physical Requirements: To be able to lift at minimum 50 lbs
Work Environment: Daycare setting, primarily in the office, occasionally in the classrooms.
