Security Guard is able to perform a variety of fixed-post, mobile, or foot patrols while maintaining situational awareness and making decisions and/or taking actions consistent with established post orders, facility rules, guidelines and protocols. Duties may include work in austere and uncomfortable conditions for prolonged periods of time, including periods of inclement weather, while performing walking, standing, searching, and surveillance or sitting duties essential to the performance of the security functions.
The pay rate for this position is $25.73/hour + $5.25/hour H&W.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Keep supervisors and managers informed of unusual occurrences and important events as detailed in post orders, rules, regulations, guidelines, and protocols.
• Monitor alarms, radio traffic and other information sources. Dispatch or inform others as needed and authorized.
• Report and appropriately address fire alarms, burglary alarms, requests for assistance and criminal acts; including but not limited to: vandalism, theft, illegal entry or attempted entry, suspicious behavior, domestic or workplace violence, threats, speed or other vehicle violations, illegal drug use, inappropriate use of facility or client equipment or property.
• Stop, screen, inquire, and inspect vehicles and pedestrians entering and / or exiting the facility as directed by post orders, rules, regulations, guidelines, and protocols.
• Prevent passage of prohibited articles onto or from client facility.
• Escort individuals or vehicles in accordance with post orders, rules, regulations, guidelines and protocols.
• Use portable radios, phones, or other communication devises appropriately and according to established rules.
• Monitor all APSI and client equipment; guard against loss or damage; report any such loss or damage immediately to a supervisor or manager.
• Log in Property Pass numbers for authorized property/equipment movements.
• Ensure the security of government property, detaining personnel, and reporting anyone involved with unauthorized property/equipment removal.
• Conduct regular patrols and inspections of buildings and facilities
• Issue required vehicle passes to authorize personnel.
• Monitor electronic access control and report violations
• Monitor radio-frequency identification (RFID) systems and respond to alarms indicating unauthorized removal of government property.
• Grant access to areas during non-working hours to authorized personnel in accordance with the established procedure and access lists.
• Monitor facility equipment and utility systems and report deficiencies to personnel responsible for repairs.
• Perform random surveillance of buildings for the detection of unauthorized or inappropriate activity.
• Perform random surveillance of fence line for breaches and the detection of unauthorized removal of government property, illegal or inappropriate activity.
• Provide additional security support for scheduled events that may occur during or after duty hours or for unscheduled emergencies as requested by supervisor
• Maintain activity logs and administrative documents as required by contract.
• Contact, assist, and cooperate with local, state, or federal law enforcement; locate, retain, and protect necessary evidence; testify as necessary in judicial and administrative proceedings.
• Other duties as assigned.
Access to government facilities/installations specific to this position is a mandatory requirement to fulfill the minimum qualifications for this position. Minimum Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of security/civilian law enforcement experience OR an equivalent position with the United States Armed Forces (military).
b. One year of work experience demonstrating the ability to follow directions, meet attendance requirements and the ability to complete the training necessary to certify with the State.
Language: Must be fluent in speaking and writing in English.
Pre-Hire Screening: Must be able to pass criminal background screen, drug test and physical exam.
Certifications: Applicants must have a state-issued Guard card before being hired.
Preferred Qualifications
1. First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
2. Prior experience with the Glock platform is preferred.

General Description:
The purpose of this job within the organization is to perform a variety of routine and complex work to enforce the security and protect the property, personnel and resources of NOAA research vessels while in port, in compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines and policies. This job works under close to general supervision according to established NOAA practices that determine how or when to complete tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The functions listed below are those that represent much of the time spent working in this job/class. Management, or the Commanding Crew of the vessel, may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the job/class as necessary.

This position is responsible for protecting designated people and places and should report noteworthy incidents to the company as they occur. This position will also ensure that safety equipment remains in excellent working order.
Essential Functions:
1. Ensure building occupants and visitors comply with posted rules and regulations. Discrepancies shall be immediately reported to the company or their respective officers.
2. Monitor and enforce the personal identification and visitor control system.
3. Perform facility patrols and facility checks in accordance with routes and schedules as directed.
4. Turn off unnecessary facility lights, lock, unlock, or open windows, doors, gates, and cabinets and enforce energy conservation procedures and other related duties.
5. Answer telephones and take messages.
6. Keep uniforms clean and professionally presentable.
7. Direct traffic, both vehicle and pedestrian, and control parking.
8. Detect and immediately report, persons attempting to gain unauthorized access to the property.
9. Prevent, if possible, unusual incidents, and detect and report damages, accidents, fire hazards, and violations of the security procedures.
10. Obtain professional assistance in accordance with procedures in the event of injury or illness to personnel or others while in the building or on the grounds.
11. Staff the security office and monitor security cameras.
12. Prepare a written report at the end of each shift. Contractor shall be responsible for maintaining these records for the term of the contract.
13. In the event of an emergency condition, notify designated personnel.
14. When required, provide security guard coverage on a shift basis for 24/7 service.
15. Other administrative or miscellaneous light duties, with patrol or other assigned duties.
16. Ensure all information provided regarding this contract is kept in a reading file at the guard station and is maintained by the contractor. This file shall be read and signed by each security guard when first assigned to the position and monthly thereafter.
17. Provide completed and error-free daily security and incident reports. The security guard contractor shall maintain a complete file of these reports.
18. Provide transportation for guards to and from site.
19. Implement annual random drug-testing program of 25% of the Contractor's employees. Test results shall be furnished to the company.
20. Comply with the requirements of the DoD Contract Security Specifications outlined in the DD Form 254.

Education and Experience:
Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have 1 -2 years of prior security officer experience. A clear criminal record is required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Applicants must meet the minimum passing score of 70% to be advanced to the Job Task Simulation Test (JTST). The written test results are valid for two (2) years. Unsuccessful applicants are not eligible to re-apply for six (6) months from the date of testing.
Job Task Simulation Test (JTST)
The Job Task Simulation Test (JTST) is physically demanding, and a certain fitness level is required to pass and prevent injury.
When given the signal from a test administrator, the applicant will exit the driver's seat of a patrol vehicle and run a total distance of approximately 400 yards. During the run, the applicant will encounter and navigate numerous obstacles, including zigzagging through a series of cones, ducking under obstacles, scaling a fence, long-jumping a specified distance, going up and down stairs, a push/pull simulation, and a victim rescue drag. Applicants will perform the test while wearing a weighted belt and vest, equivalent to the weight a Patrol Officer carries while performing job-related tasks.
Applicants must complete the JTST in 3 minutes and 36 seconds.

Each applicant will be given two attempts to pass the test on the same testing day. If unsuccessful, the applicant may try again at the next available testing date.
CONDITIONAL OFFER OF EMPLOYMENT - BACKGROUND PHASE
Applicants who successfully complete the Job Task Simulation Test (JTST) will be given a "Conditional Offer of Employment". The six (6) steps and conditions of employment are listed below.
Step 1: Preliminary Background Interview
The preliminary interview is a structured and is focused on behavior relevant to the essential job elements required for the position of PoliceOfficer. The applicant's interview skills, employment history, driving history, illegal substance abuse history and other relevant information will be assessed to determine if the applicant meets Anchorage Police Department standards.
Step 2: Background Investigations
The Background Investigation is a critical examination of an applicant's past work and personal history. The Background Investigation phase takes the majority of time in the application process.
Applicants who are not successful during the Background Investigation phase are eligible to re-apply two (2) years from the date of the conditional offer.
If during any portion of the process/background investigation it is discovered the applicant committed an act or acts which would constitute felonious conduct under Statutes, except the specific exclusions regarding simple possession and/or use of a controlled substance, the applicant will not be eligible to re-apply or be considered for any position with the Anchorage Police Department.

CRIMINAL CONVICTIONS
Conviction of a felony crime by a civilian court of a US State, Federal Court, Territory, or Military Court or any other Country for an offense which would be classified as a felony under Alaska Statue.
SUBSTANCE ABUSE
Illegally manufactured, transported, or sold a controlled substance, unless the person was under the age of 21 at the time of the act and the act occurred more than 10 years before the date of hire.
Illegally used a Schedule IA, IIA, IIIA, IVA, or VA controlled substance, within the five years before the date of hire (unless the person was under the age of 21 at the time of using the controlled substance or an immediate, pressing or emergency medical circumstance existed to justify the use of a prescription Schedule IA, IIA, IIIA, IVA or VA controlled substance not specifically prescribed to the person).
Used marijuana to any degree within one (1) year of the date of application, regardless of marijuana's legal status at the time.
To any degree, used an illegal controlled substance while employed as a certified Municipal, State, or Federal peace officer, correctional officer, or military law enforcement officer.
Step 3: Psychological Assessment
The Psychological Assessment is a two-part process, and is used to determine suitability for the position. The first part is a written exam, and the second part is an interview with a State of Alaska Licensed Psychologist. The written exam can take approximately 4 - 6 hours to complete.
Applicants must successfully complete the Psychological Assessment in order to continue in the selection process. Unsuccessful applicants may re-apply after two (2) years.
Step 4: Polygraph Examination
Successful applicants will be required to submit to a Polygraph Examination.

Step 5: Command Review and Chief's Selection
After passing all previous steps and phases, applicant files will be forwarded to a command review, where a panel of no less than three command level officers will review applicant files before they are forwarded to the Chief for final selection. Unsuccessful applicants may re-apply after two (2) years.
Step 6: Final Conditional offer of Employment
The Municipal Employment Office will contact the selected applicants to make a final conditional offer of employment. This offer of employment is based upon successful completion of the remaining conditions of employment. Selected applicants must successfully complete these remaining conditions in order to be hired.
PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
* Medical examination by an MOA designated licensed physician to determine if the applicant is physically sound and free from physical defects that would adversely affect the performance of duties required by a PoliceOfficer.
* Satisfactory passing a drug screen
* Submission of a current copy of the applicants State of Alaska driver's license
* Submission of a current (dated within 30 days from the date requested) copy of his/her Department of Motor Vehicle driving record, including a driving record from previous states if the Alaska driver's license was first issued within one year prior to application, documenting an acceptable driving history. The processing fee(s) are the responsibility of the selected applicant.
Selected hires will advance to a sworn Recruit PoliceOfficer after the successful completion of the Police Academy.

(a) The council may waive part or all of the basic policeofficer academy requirements if an applicant furnishes satisfactory evidence that the applicant has successfully completed
(1) an equivalent basic policeofficer academy;
(2) a 12-consecutive-month probationary period with the police department the applicant is employed within this state at the time of the waiver request;
(3) a council-certified, department-supervised field training program; and
(4) a council-certified recertification police training academy that consists of a minimum of 80 hours of classroom and practical training and that includes the following topics of instruction:
(A) criminal laws in this state;
(B) control tactics;
(C) domestic violence;
(D) ethics;
(E) firearms;
(F) use of force;
(G) juvenile law and procedures in this state;
(H) laws of arrest in this state;
(I) traffic law in this state;
(J) laws in this state regarding detection of driving under the influence and enforcement; and
(K) recognizing and working with disabled persons in compliance with the requirements of AS 18.65.220 (link).
(b) The council may enter into reciprocity agreements with states that regulate or supervise the quality of police training and that require a minimum of 650 hours of classroom and practical training for policeofficers.
(c) Notwithstanding (a) of this section, the council will not grant a waiver if the applicant was previously issued a certificate that lapsed more than five years before the waiver was sought.

Military Service Interview Preference

Once APSC accepts an individual's out of state certification, each individual applicant will be vetted and assessed by the Fairbanks Police Department for the proper course of training that will be required, but likely successful candidates will attend an abbreviated Police Academy to familiarize them with police work in Fairbanks.

CARRYING:

Applicants who are successful in the testing and selection process may be added to the eligibility list to be considered for positions that become available in the future.
Selected hires will advance to a sworn PoliceOfficer after the successful completion of the Police Academy.

Anchorage PoliceOfficers/Senior PoliceOfficers perform a wide range of police services and a variety of tasks including; maintain order, enforce codes and ordinances, identification and apprehension of violators within the Municipality of Anchorage (MOA). Respond to complaints and requests for police assistance and intervene in various situations as required. Promote safety and wellbeing through the enforcement of local, state, and federal laws in a manner consistent with the mission and goals of the MOA. Conduct preliminary investigations; collect and preserve evidence. Ability to coordinate with other agencies, maintain records and daily reports; prepare cases for court testimony and testify in court as required. Perform other required duties as assigned.
Additional Information:
Enforcement of all criminal and traffic laws including the identification and apprehension of violators. Perform a variety of crime prevention and enforcement duties as assigned. Respond to complaints and requests for Police assistance and intervene in various situations as required. Enforce traffic regulations, direct traffic, investigate collisions and complete detailed collision reports. Conduct preliminary investigations; collect and preserve evidence. Maintain records and daily reports; prepare cases for court testimony. Testify in court as required. Coordinate with other agencies as required.
The duties and requirements of a PoliceOfficer include, but may not be limited to, performance of the following activities: use of firearms, driving emergency vehicles, handcuffing prisoners, administering first aid, rescue operations, lifting and carrying 0-70 lbs, directing traffic, subdue prisoners, pursue suspects, walking-lateral mobility, walking over rough terrain, bending, stooping, crouching, sitting, standing, standing for long periods, kneeling, twisting body, pushing, pulling, running, sense of touch, reaching, gripping hands and fingers, climbing stairs, climbing ladders, hearing alarms, hearing voice conversation, color identification, close vision, far vision, side vision-depth perception, night vision, maintaining balance, finger dexterity, speaking English, physically control combative and disruptive persons.
Physical audio / visual requirements include normal color discrimination, normal binocular coordination, normal peripheral vision, and corrected visual acuity of 20/30 or better in each eye. Normal color discrimination is defined as having the ability to discern the primary safety colors of red, green and yellow. Requires normal hearing or having no hearing defect which would adversely affect performance as a PoliceOfficer.
Must be a citizen or US National of the USA by date of hire (6/5/2026).
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Must be at least 21 years old by date of hire.
Must possess a valid State of Alaska driver's license by date of hire (6/5/2026).
Must meet AlaskaPolice Standards Council (APSC) and Anchorage Police Department (APD) standards regarding misdemeanor and/or felony convictions, traffic violations and use of controlled substances. Such as:

TESTING INFORMATION AND NOTIFICATION
Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications, have acceptable employment records, and meet Municipal standards related to driving guidelines and criminal conviction history may be invited to participate in the PoliceOfficer Testing process.

An APD PoliceOfficer is a professional and highly sought after position. Applicants should consider every step in the process as part of a professional job interview. Appearance and conduct during the process should exude professionalism. Applicants with unprofessional attire, such as jeans, shorts, t-shirts, or tennis shoes, may be turned away from testing or disqualified. This does not apply to the Job Task Simulation Test (JTST); appropriate workout clothing is required for this test.
If during any portion of the application, entry level testing or background process it is discovered that the applicant falsified any material fact, or intentionally omitted or modified material facts, the applicant will not be eligible to re-apply or be considered for any position with the Anchorage Police Department.
Entry Testing Information

Applicants must meet the minimum passing score of 70% to be advanced to the Job Task Simulation Test (JTST). The written test results are valid for two (2) years. Unsuccessful applicants are not eligible to re-apply for six (6) months from the date of testing.
Job Task Simulation Test (JTST)
The Job Task Simulation Test (JTST) is physically demanding, and a certain fitness level is required to pass and prevent injury.
When given the signal from a test administrator, the applicant will exit the driver's seat of a patrol vehicle and run a total distance of approximately 400 yards. During the run, the applicant will encounter and navigate numerous obstacles, including zigzagging through a series of cones, ducking under obstacles, scaling a fence, long-jumping a specified distance, going up and down stairs, a push/pull simulation, and a victim rescue drag. Applicants will perform the test while wearing a weighted belt and vest, equivalent to the weight a Patrol Officer carries while performing job-related tasks.
Applicants must complete the JTST in 3 minutes and 36 seconds.

Each applicant will be given two attempts to pass the test on the same testing day. If unsuccessful, the applicant may try again at the next available testing date.
CONDITIONAL OFFER OF EMPLOYMENT - BACKGROUND PHASE
Applicants who successfully complete the Job Task Simulation Test (JTST) will be given a "Conditional Offer of Employment". The six (6) Steps and conditions of employment are listed below.
Step 1: Preliminary Interview
The preliminary interview is a structured interview focused on behavior relevant to the essential job elements required for the position of PoliceOfficer. The applicant's interview skills, employment history, driving history, illegal substance abuse history and other relevant information will be assessed to determine if the applicant meets Anchorage Police Department standards.
Step 2: Background Investigations
The Background Investigation is a critical examination of an applicant's past work and personal history. The Background Investigation phase takes the majority of time in the application process.
Applicants who are not successful during the Background Investigation phase are eligible to re-apply two (2) years from the date of the conditional offer unless otherwise indicated.
If during any portion of the process/background investigation it is discovered the applicant committed an act or acts which would constitute felonious conduct under Statutes, except the specific exclusions regarding simple possession and/or use of a controlled substance, the applicant will not be eligible to re-apply or be considered for any position with the Anchorage Police Department.

Eliminating Factors are listed below. Includes but is not limited to:
CRIMINAL CONVICTIONS
Conviction of a felony crime by a civilian court of a US State, Federal Court, Territory, or Military Court or any other Country for an offense which would be classified as a felony under Alaska Statue.
SUBSTANCE ABUSE
Illegally manufactured, transported or possessed with intent to sell or distribute, or who has sold a controlled substance and/or an imitation controlled substance, unless under 21 years of age and the act occurred more than 10 years before the date of hire.
Illegally used any controlled substance, other than marijuana, including scheduled prescription medications not prescribed to you within five (5) years of the date of hire (unless under the age of 21 at the time). Exception: immediate, pressing or emergency medical circumstance existed to justify the use of a prescription controlled substance not specifically prescribed to the applicant.
Used marijuana to any degree within one (1) year of the date of application, regardless of marijuana's legal status at the time.
To any degree, used an illegal controlled substance while employed as a certified Municipal, State, or Federal peace officer, or correctional officer.
Step 3: Psychological Assessment
The Psychological Assessment is a two-part process, and is used to determine suitability for the position. The first part is a written exam, and the second part is an interview with a State of Alaska licensed Psychologist. The written exam can take approximately 4 - 6 hours to complete.
Applicants must successfully complete the Psychological Assessment in order to continue in the selection process. Unsuccessful applicants may re-apply after two (2) years.
Step 4: Polygraph Examination
Successful applicants will be required to submit to a Polygraph Examination.

Step 5: Command Review and Chief's Selection
After passing all previous steps and phases, applicant files will be forwarded to a command review, where a panel of no less than three command level officers will review applicant files before they are forwarded to the Chief for final selection. Unsuccessful applicants may re-apply after two (2) years.
Step 6: Final Conditional Offer of Employment
The Municipal Employment Office will contact the selected applicants to make a final conditional offer of employment. The final conditional offer of employment is based upon successful completion of the remaining conditions of employment:
PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
* Medical examination by an MOA designated licensed physician to determine if the applicant is physically sound and free from physical defects that would adversely affect the performance of duties required by a PoliceOfficer.
* Satisfactory passing a drug screen
* Submission of a current copy of the applicants State of Alaska driver's license
* Submission of a current (dated within 30 days from the date requested) copy of his/her Department of Motor Vehicle driving record, including a driving record from previous states if the Alaska driver's license was first issued within one year prior to application, documenting an acceptable driving history. EDUCATIONAL PAY BENEFIT
In accordance with the APDEA CBA, after successful completion of probation, employees are eligible for educational pay benefits of the below amounts for college degrees issued by an accredited institution as recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA):

Lateral Officers:
Lateral PoliceOfficers from outside Alaska must have successfully completed a state certified training academy with at least 650 hours, must have at least one year of experience from a full-service law enforcement agency, and must be now or have been certified within 5 years as a policeofficer in their jurisdiction to be considered for a lateral position with the Fairbanks Police Department.
The Fairbanks Police Department will work with AlaskaPolice Standards Council and the lateral applicant in attempts to approve them for APSC certification based on their past training and experience.
Once APSC accepts an individual's out of state certification, each individual applicant will be vetted and assessed by the Fairbanks Police Department for the proper course of training that will be required, but likely successful candidates will attend an abbreviated Police Academy to familiarize them with police work in Fairbanks.
After an abbreviated training orientation, officers will be required to attend Field Training. Field Training may be abbreviated depending on the progress of the individual officer.

The duties and requirements of a PoliceOfficer include, but may not be limited to, performance of the following activities: use of firearms, driving emergency vehicles, handcuffing prisoners, administering first aid, rescue operations, lifting and carrying up to 70 lbs., directing traffic, subdue prisoners, pursue suspects, walking-lateral mobility, walking over rough terrain, bending, stooping, crouching, sitting, standing, standing for long periods, kneeling, twisting, pushing, pulling, running, sense of touch, reaching, gripping hands and fingers, climbing stairs, ladders, hearing alarms and voice conversation, color identification, close and far vision, side vision-depth perception, night vision, maintaining balance, finger dexterity, speaking, physically control combative and disruptive persons.
Physical audio / visual requirements include normal color discrimination, normal binocular coordination, normal peripheral vision, and corrected visual acuity of 20/30 or better in each eye. Normal color discrimination is defined as having the ability to discern the primary safety colors of red, green and yellow. Requires normal hearing or having no hearing defect which would adversely affect performance as a PoliceOfficer.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
* Must be a citizen of the USA by date of hire.
* High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
* Must be at least 21 years old by date of hire.
* Must possess a valid State of Alaska driver's license by date of hire.
* Must meet AlaskaPolice Standards Council (APSC) and Fairbanks Police Department (FPD). standards regarding misdemeanor and/or felony convictions, traffic violations and use of controlled substances. Such as:
* No criminal convictions after reaching the age of 18.
* No marijuana use within the past one (1) year.
* Must be able to obtain APSC certification within 13 months of hire (AS 18.65.240).
* Alaska Public Safety Information Network (APSIN) / National Crime Information Center (NCIC). certification within thirty (30) days of hire.
* Satisfactory Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) background check at time of hire.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be physically able to operate a variety of machines, tools and equipment which includes a motor vehicle, police bicycle, computer, calculator, copy machine, telephone, camera, video camera, tape recorder, two-way radio, radar gun, baton, handcuffs, gun/firearm, etc. Physical demand requirements are at levels of those for very heavy work.
STANDING/WALKING:
Patrol Duties: Stands and Walks on concrete or asphalt pavement or uneven, unpaved surfaces about 30% of the day. Distance is normally 1,000 feet or less at any one time.
Office Duties: Stands and walks on concrete, vinyl, and carpeted floors about 10% of the day. Distance is normally 100 feet or less.
SITTING:
Patrol Duties: Sits in a patrol vehicle 60% of the day.
Office Duties: Sits in the office for report writing and meetings about 20% of the day in chairs normally at a table or using a computer terminal.
CARRYING:
May routinely carry objects of varying sizes and weight up to 1,000 feet in distance. Objects may be of different substances or shapes. Some carrying may be under emergency conditions.
LIFTING:
May routinely lift objects as part of regular duties (i.e., drawing firearm or baton). Lifting does not normally require anything over shoulder height. May include lifting persons in custody, unconscious, et cetrea. Weights range up to 250 pounds, but routinely weigh 10 to 50 pounds.
PUSHING/PULLING:
May be required to pull weights up to 180 to 250 pounds under emergency/arrest conditions. Routinely may push/pull objects weighing 10 to 50 pounds, or push a vehicle short distances.
BENDING:
From the waist to pick up or lay down an object. May be down on knees for short time periods, as duties require.
REACHING:
Patrol Duties: Reaching will be required under emergency/arrest conditions. Measurement of the degree is not possible to quantify. Reaching frequently in patrol vehicle for radio or siren/light bar controls is 2 feet or less. Will provide traffic direction and control, this requires extensive use of hand and arm signals for periods varying from 5 minutes to 1 hour. Office Duties: Some reaching required while changing into uniform, reaching for office supplies across a table. Reaching is not normally required for distances over 3 feet.
TWISTING:
Patrol Duties: Twisting will be required under emergency/arrest conditions. Measurement of the degree is not possible to quantify. Twisting in the patrol vehicle is 60% to one side or the other as well as some twisting is involved in entering/leaving vehicle. Office Duties: Twisting is required sitting at a table or desk as officer reaches for the phone or supplies. Twisting in this environment is 45% to one side or the other.
CLIMBING - HEIGHT:
atrol Duties: On/over various building surfaces, fences, walls (approximately 6 feet high), etc. Climbing stairs between building levels common part of daily routine; slope/number of steps varies, depends on situation. May be under emergency conditions. Office Duties: There is minimal exposure to this activity.
CRAWLING:
Patrol Duties: May be required in emergency situations. Surfaces may vary, inside/outside, environments. Distance normally limited to less than 10 feet.
RUNNING:
Patrol Duties: Running may be required for short distances to escape from or reach an incident scene or in the process of arresting a suspect.
DATA CONCEPTION:
Requires the ability to compare and/or judge the readily observable functional, technical, structural, or compositional characteristics (whether similar to or divergent from obvious standards) of data, people, or things.
INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION: Requires the ability of speaking and/or signaling people to convey or exchange technical or administrative information relating to law enforcement. Includes giving assignments and/or directions to co-workers or assistants.
LANGUAGE ABILITY: Requires the ability to read a variety of informational documentation, direction, instructions, and methods and procedures. Requires the ability to write reports with proper format, punctuation, spelling, and grammar, using all parts of speech. Requires the ability to speak with and before others with poise, voice control, and confidence using correct English and a well-modulated voice.

Falken Industries is hiring Cleared Security Escorts / Construction Observers to support ongoing facility projects at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER). You will escort uncleared personnel, monitor work in controlled areas, maintain positive control of tools/materials, and ensure all site activities comply with base and security procedures. You will report to a Site Security Manager and coordinate closely with government representatives, contractors, and trades.
Key Responsibilities
Escort and continuously monitor uncleared workers within restricted/controlled areas.
Verify identification, control access, and enforce site/post entry/exit procedures.
Maintain detailed activity logs (personnel, tools, materials, incidents).
Monitor work for compliance with security requirements; immediately report deviations.
Support inventories and end-of-shift accountability of tools and materials.
