Under direction from higher level Police Department supervisory or management staff, perform law enforcement and crime prevention work; control traffic flow and enforce State and local traffic regulations; perform investigative work; participate in and provide support and assistance to special crime prevention and enforcement programs; establish, grow, and preserve positive relationships between the community and the Police Department; and perform a variety of technical and administrative tasks in support of the department.
Distinguishing Characteristics:Classes in this series are distinguished by the level of certification attained and years of experience. The PoliceOfficer classification requires the possession of a P.O.S.T. Basic Certificate and involves the performance of the more routine duties assigned to positions within the series. The PoliceOfficer w/ Intermediate Certificate classification requires the possession of a P.O.S.T. Intermediate Certificate and involves the performance of more technical or diverse assignments that the PoliceOfficer classification. The PoliceOfficer w/ Advanced Certificate classification is the senior officer level which requires the possession of a P.O.S.T. Advanced Certificate and involves the performance of the full range of duties as assigned.
Essential Functions
The incumbent must have the ability to:
Patrol a designated area of the City to preserve law and order, discover and prevent the commission of crimes, and enforce traffic and other laws and ordinances.
Preserve and strive to improve the quality of life within the community by using various policing techniques, such as problem-solving policing and intelligence-led policing strategies that encourage and build positive relationships between the Fontana Police Department and the community.
Emphasize community interaction and collaborative problem solving between the Fontana Police Department and the community; continue to build diverse community-based partnerships guided by innovation and perseverance to ensure Fontana's future as a well-developed, dignified, and respected community.
Answer calls and complaints involving automobile accidents, robberies, assaults, fires and related misdemeanors and felonies; respond to alarms; investigate complaints; apprehend suspects; search, inspect, transport and take custody of prisoners.
Respond to general public service calls including animal complaints, domestic disturbances, civil complaints, property control, and related incidents; may participate in the surveillance of an area.
Secure the scene of a crime; administer first aid; conduct preliminary investigations; obtain witnesses; gather information; make arrests; prepare detailed reports.
Investigate reports of missing persons; maintain surveillance over suspected criminals; identify areas of potential crimes or unsafe conditions; report conditions and take corrective action.
Identify suspects; conduct interviews and interrogations; apprehend and arrest offenders.
Serve as Field Training Officer as assigned; train new officers on departmental policies, procedures and activities.
Collect, process, photograph and present evidence suing scientific techniques including fingerprints, fibers, blood, and related physical evidence.
Enforce traffic laws and ordinances; check speed with radar; issue warnings and citations.
Conduct building and field searches; check buildings for physical security.
Direct traffic at fire, special events, and other emergency or congested situations.
Conduct investigations of injury and fatal traffic accidents; conduct traffic accident analyses and general traffic surveys.
Conduct a variety of criminal investigations involving crimes against persons and property; gather evidence and prepare cases for prosecution.
Contact and interview victims and witnesses; preserve and investigate crime scenes.
Conduct covert, undercover investigations as assigned.
Contact and cooperate with other law enforcement agencies in matters relating to the apprehension of offenders and the investigation of offenses.
Assist in the performance of special investigative and crime prevention duties.
Prepare reports on arrests made, activities performed and unusual incidents observed.
Make arrests as necessary; interview victims, complainants and witnesses; interrogate suspects; gather and preserve evidence; testify and present evidence in court.
Serve warrants within the department and with outside agencies; remain current on laws and procedures required for processing warrants.
Serve as Crime Prevention Officer; oversee and coordinate crime prevention activities; make presentations to local citizens and community groups.
Serve as Intelligence Officer; gather crime related intelligence information and conduct background investigations; coordinate information and activities with outside agencies and jurisdictions.
Serve as Public Information Officer; respond to inquiries and complaints from individuals, private organizations, news media and the general public; inform and educate the public on crime prevention and the criminal justice system; prepare and present public speaking engagements.
Investigate juvenile related crimes including child abuse and juvenile narcotics; coordinate youth services with outside agencies and organizations including local school districts; conduct community presentations and instruct assigned classes.
May participate in S.W.A.T. and K-9 activities and operations.
May perform duties of police dispatcher or desk officer as needed.
Participate in departmental studies and in staff development.
Attend briefings and provide roll call as needed.
Maintain prompt and regular attendance.
Perform any other tasks or functions deemed necessary to the daily operations of the employer.

TESTING PROCESS
The City of Corona is pleased to announce our new testing process! Please review the information and dates below.
Online Written Exam: Candidates who meet the minimum qualification will receive an email invitation to complete our online exam. The exam consists of 108 questions focusing on the following areas:
Reading
Math
Reasoning & Analyzing
Writing
Human Relations
Candidates will have 3 hours to complete the exam and can take the exam at any time prior to the due date listed on your invitation email. We do not offer a study guide and will provide specific direction regarding the exam in the invitation email. Candidates must score a 70% or higher to be invited to continue on in the recruitment process.
Physical Agility, and Oral Board Interviews: Candidates who receive a 70% or higher on the written exam will then be invited to our single day testing process. The day will start with the physical agility exam.
The physical agility testing requires candidates to complete the following: climbing of 6ft. wall (solid), 25 push-ups in one minute, 30 sit-ups in one minute and complete 1.5 mile run in 13:30. The applicant must successfully complete each event in order to pass the physical agility. Those who pass the physical agility test will then be given an oral interview time, taking place the same day.
The top scoring candidates from the oral interview will be placed on an eligibility list and will be contacted by the department to start the background process as vacancies arise.
The next one-day testing is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, February 28, 2026.

Job Summary:
The PT Air Courier Messenger is responsible for escorting customer cargo/liability from plane side to customer location and to/from the Brinks facility to customer locations while providing armed security for the same. This position functions in an armed environment and requires the enforcement of rules to protect the premises and property of Brink's. Additionally this role functions to protect and ensure the safety of customer and armored vehicles in transit, as well as the safety of persons on the premises of Brink's and its customers, including armored vehicles. Key Responsibilities:
+ Receive daily delivery routes and work closely with branch leadership both on the BGS and CIT side of the business to ensure all paperwork and liability related documentation is accurate prior to leaving the branch.
+ Maintain a position on tarmac in order to monitor shipments being transferred on and off of the aircraft.
+ Provide secured delivery of all customer liability and ensure that each customer receives outstanding level of service during each transaction/interaction.
+ Ensure that all liability is appropriately secured and maintained inside and outside the company vehicle.
+ Assist the location Sort Operation as necessary in the movement of liability and other secured valuables from the facility to the vehicles and back.
+ Ensure that all DOT regulations are maintained and followed as well as all traffic regulations and relative guidelines.
+ Enforce and report all security or safety violations to the Supervisor of Operations or Operations Manager as well as any unusual and suspicious situations that have occurred during daily assignments.
+ Provide security by adhering to the General Security Regulations and other directives handed down by the management

Minimum Qualifications:
+ Minimum 6 months of experience as a courier or guard working a secured logistics environment or where valuable liability is stored and managed.
+ Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
+ A current & valid driver's license.
+ Satisfy all applicable Department of Transportation requirements
+ A valid weapons permit or ability to pass applicable weapons licensing requirements.
+ A valid guard card or ability to obtain a guard card or any other required licenses

GENERAL SUMMARY
The Data Governance Officer is responsible for providing data governance/data management support to the data domains and business units. Under minimal supervision, the Officer will create data governance training materials, document procedures, process flows, as well as Enterprise-standard templates to be used in the execution of data governance requirements by the data domains.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Other responsibilities of the Data Governance Officer include:
Produce data governance dashboards on a recurring basis.
Manage documentation as well as remediation of key data issues.
Execute a reliable Second Line of Defense (2LOD) review and challenge process via documented processes, controls, templates, and rigors.

Education Incentive Pay: An additional 7% of base pay for an Associate's degree or equivalent units (60) OR Intermediate California (CA) P.O.S.T. Certificate. An additional 10.5% for a Bachelor's degree or equivalent units (124) OR Advanced California P.O.S.T. Certificate.
Merit Longevity: Employees become eligible for additional merit longevity pay increases after 5 years at 2.75%, 10 year at 5.5%, at 20 years of service, 8.25%, and at 25 years of service, 13%. Effective 12/23/02, full-time years of service as a certified Peace Officer with another CA P.O.S.T. law enforcement agency shall apply to longevity as though earned with the City of Downey after the initial probationary period has been completed.
Retirement: In accordance with Public Employees' Pension Reform Act (PEPRA), new hires enrolled after January 1, 2013 will be under the 2.7% @ age 57 formula as a new member to the California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS). This enrollment will require a member contribution of 12.25% of reportable earnings. The salary for PoliceOfficer is $7,586 - $10,117 per month, plus very generous benefits and salary incentives.
Retirement Benefits
An employee who is a Classic member of CalPERS or a current member of another California public retirement system who is hired on or after January 1, 2013, will be enrolled in the CalPERS 3.0% @ age 50 benefit formula with one year final compensation. Employees contribute 12.0% of salary on a pre-tax basis as their full share of their member contribution. Employees do not pay into Social Security.

Orange PoliceOfficers work a 3/12 schedule for Patrol Officers and a 4/10 schedule for all special assignments. Employees receive 105 hours per year of holiday accrual, and 80 hours of vacation for the first 4 years of service. Vacation accrual increases to 120 hours upon 5 years of service, and increases to a maximum of 220 hours after 30 years of service. The City also pays court standby pay. In addition to retirement, the City offers an optional Deferred Compensation Plan.

GENERAL SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the SBA Closing Manager, the SBA Closing Officer supports various functions of SBA lending, including loan packaging, and primarily the closing and post-closing process, as well as ensuring compliance with SBA rules and regulations. Under minimal supervision and following established department policies and procedures, prepares and analyzes loan closing, servicing, liquidation; and participates in problem resolution.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Prepare and review the SBA, GP, CLP, and PLP loan submission packages.
Ensure SBA Terms and Conditions are consistent with approved credit memo.
Prepare and review Closing Checklist and SBA closing documents.
Prepare and review Lender's Escrow Instructions.
Review Prelim Title Report, Purchase Agreement and Escrow Instructions.
Review loan file for any missing items and follow up with loan officer/borrower.
Coordinate with borrower, broker, title, escrow, CDC and outside counsel for loan closing.
Review entity formation documents and submit the loan doc request to DCF via nCino.
Collect all pending items, including insurance, upload all executed loan documents to nCino, and coordinate funding with DCF.
Fund and service in compliance with SBA, SOP, and Bank approval conditions in a timely and accurate manner.
Issue cashiers check to pay all necessary loan related fees and costs.
Generate monthly production reports and prepare the G/L Account & SBA Bank Control Account Certifications.

May provide training and coaching to less experienced team members in the department.
QUALIFICATIONS

The City of Santa Ana is now accepting PELLETB scores from other agencies. The PELLETB exam must have been completed within 6 months of application date in order for scores to be used in lieu of the Frontline National Examination. The minimal acceptable score is 46.
The next three selection components (Physical Agility Exam, Oral Interview Examination and Background Orientation) are all consolidated in one full day of testing.

Each of the above events are timed. Candidate's performance times are converted to points and summed. Candidates must successfully complete the 1.5 mile run AND accumulate a minimum total score of 384 points in the remaining five events to pass the physical agility test.

This examination will be a panel interview will be conducted by subject matter experts.
Eligible List: The names of those candidates who complete selection testing with acceptable results will be placed on the Eligible List for the position of Recruit/PoliceOfficer. The duration of the List is generally one year but may be exhausted sooner dependent upon the targeted Police Academy program schedule selected by the Downey Police Department.
Prior to an employment offer, a comprehensive background investigation, including a polygraph exam and fingerprinting through the California Department of Justice will be conducted.
