What You'll Do
* Greet all visitors/contractors/employees as they arrive, and offer assistance and guidance as necessary.
* Screen all visitors/contractors for a purposeful reason to be on site prior to contacting Wayfair personnel.
* Monitor campus security by monitoring alarms, access control, CCTV and events that may impact Wayfair's operations and assets.
* Monitor site camera system(s) looking for signs of loss or security breaches.
* Respond to incidents or crisis events that occur or could potentially impact Wayfair's operations.
* Perform key duties and be the key point of contact for first responders in the event of an emergency.
* When applicable, conduct daily safety and security patrols of the building, reporting findings to their direct manager.

* Report damage or unsafe conditions to site management immediately.
* Provide an accurate account of patrol during and after the tour to include times, areas visited, irregularities, etc.

* Perform clerical duties associated with driver and trailer management.
* Responsible for site-specific duties and tasks based on assignment, which may include customer service, loss prevention, retail security, lobby/visitor reception, service/freight elevator security, loading dock security, and/or a variety of other safety and security roles.
* Manage and handle sensitive incidents while maintaining the company's and affected individual's confidentiality.
* Responsible for knowing all site-specific policies and procedures, and implementing emergency response activities as appropriate.
* Work in partnership with the Campus Global Security Manager on asset protection related initiatives and investigations.
* Work with site leadership to resolve security related issues.
* Responsible for following all company procedures, maintaining acceptable attendance, and adhering to all grooming and customer service standards.
What You'll Need
* Current or prior military experience, or experience in the security field is desirable.
* Minimum 1-3 years of professional-level work experience preferred. Prior experience in the security industry, law enforcement, military, and/or customer service is highly desired. Experience in scheduling, operations, or other functions of the security industry is a plus.
* Experience with card access systems and CCTV systems is a plus.
* Positions require a current valid state driver's license, clean driving record, and the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle and/or bicycle if assigned to a position requiring operation of such.
* Ability to provide reliable transportation (or access public transportation) to consistently get to and from work on time is required.
* Ability to write effective, concise, and legible reports.
* Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time.
* Demonstrated ability to be very customer service oriented, with the ability to professionally interact with all levels of individuals in a courteous manner, and to de-escalate situations before they become hostile or unsafe.

Duties and Responsibilities

Summary of the Position:
Tishman Speyer is seeking to hire a Seasonal Patrol Officer to join the Rockefeller Center team. The Seasonal Patrol Officer will enforce rules and policies to protect the property and safety of people on the premises while creating a welcoming environment for our customers (tenants), visitors, and the community.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain the health and safety of the building on par with Tishman Speyer standards.
Ensure the safety of all our customers (tenants), visitors, and the community.
Other duties as assigned by management
Skills & Qualifications:
Passion for upholding safety standards while creating a hospitable and welcoming atmosphere.
Required to operate elevators with frequent ascending and descending.
Ability to understand and communicate in English, verbally and written.
Give and receive directions from customers (tenants), visitors and emergency personnel.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand for an extended period, at a minimum of 8 hours.
Needs to be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, place objects such as metal barriers and bollards less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
Must be able to raise and lower banners and flags from flagpoles and open and close doors and gates on manually operated elevators and loading docks less than or equal to 15 pounds of pressure.
Needs to be able to withstand extreme heat and cold temperatures, varying from 0 -100+ degrees, for extended periods of time, as well as rain, sleet, and snow and work on indoor and outdoor posts on an Observation Deck as high as 85 floors.
Ability to travel between floors and buildings.
Wear Personal Protective Equipment that may be required when performing routine Patrol Officer duties and when working near or walking through areas of renovation/redevelopment to perform Patrol Officer tasks, such as but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses, disposable gloves, hearing protection, face mask for infectious disease control, nuisance dust mask, closed shoes with non-slip soles.
The base compensation range for this role is $21.00 per hour.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITITES:
* Provides community and customer service- oriented safety and security services to the College community.
* Stands fixed posts at public safety desks and/or booths to maintain perimeter security and access control.
* Patrols the College campus and the neighborhood immediately surrounding the campus.
* Prepares a variety of safety and/or security reports and logs, and maintains records of a variety of safety and/or security related activities.
* Participates in inspections and surveys of facilities, lighting, fire safety systems and equipment, and environmental health and safety conditions. Communicates and/or coordinates corrective and/or maintenance follow-up activities.

Minimum Qualifications:
* NYC Fire Safety Director Certification (FSD), or the ability to complete FSD Certification within the first 60 days of employment.
* New York State Security Guard License.
* High School Diploma or equivalency certificate.
* Five or more years of full-time work experience as a proprietary Public Safety Officer, Security Officer, PoliceOfficer, or limited Peace officer, or any combination of education and experienced judged by the College to demonstrate the education and experience necessary to perform in the position.
* Ability to work rotating hours and shifts, and maintain availability for extended shifts and overtime work as required.
* Above average communication skills both oral and written.
* Physical ability to climb stairs, stand/sit/ walk a minimum of twelve hours, and be able to lift and carry 80 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a proprietary Public Safety Officer, Security Officer or Peace Officer at a university or college setting.
* Bachelors Degree in Police Sciences, Criminal Justice, Security Management or associated discipline, and/or Certificate in Security Technology, Security Management or other related discipline.
* Proven hands-on experience using computer based electronic access control systems.
* Prior experience as a Fire Department member, fire safety professional, Paramedic or EMT.
* Reside within a thirty (30) minute response time to the College campus.

Competitive Compensation and Benefits
The salary for this position is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). New hires start at 75% of the full rate, increasing to 100% after 24 months. Employees receive subsequent annual increases based on the terms outlined in the contract. Overtime, comp time, and banked vacation time eligible.
Our benefits contribute significantly to the total compensation package and are subject to the terms of the CBA.
