SROs will assist with the departmental needs during summer breaks and extended school closures. · Performs Other duties and responsibilities as assigned Minimum Qualifications To become a Police Officer with the City of Falls Church Police Department, you must meet the minimum qualifications for law enforcement office as defined in VA Code § 15.2-1705 and other hiring requirements. Age: must be at least 20 years and 6 months of age at the time of application and at least 21 by the date of hire. Character/Background Assessment: applicants that continue past the exam/interview phase will undergo a comprehensive background investigation and character check. Individual situations will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis; however, a favorable driving record and a clean criminal history are essential.
