Annual Base Salary for newly appointed CBPOs varies as follows:
GS-9: $61,111 - $124,443 per year
Note: A fully trained CBPO is eligible for up to $45,000 in overtime pay in addition to the starting salary.
Officers are eligible to select from an array of federal employment benefits that include health, dental and other insurance plans, generous annual and sick leave, and participation in the Thrift Savings Plan.
LOCATION INCENTIVES: If you accept one of the duty locations listed below, you may be eligible to receive an additional 15%-25% of your salary each year for the first three (3) years of employment in addition to any overtime pay. Some locations may offer 25% for four (4) years.

Qualifications:
You qualify for the GS-9 grade level in one of the following ways: experience, education, or a combination of both.
Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level that includes:
Detaining suspected violators of federal, state, or local laws and/or arresting violators using the proper law enforcement methods.
Enforcing laws and regulations relating to importing, exporting, and/or international shipping.
Utilizing intelligence techniques and behavior analysis to identify potential threats.
Conducting interviews in a law enforcement capacity.
Education Substitution: A master's (or higher) degree or an LL.B. or J.D. from an accredited college or university; OR
Combination of Experience and Education: A combination of specialized experience AND successfully completed graduate-level education.

Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Residency: Primary U.S. residency for at least three of the last five years.

* Possess uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100 binocular. Possess corrected visual acuity of 20/20 or better in each eye. Lasik, ALK, RK, and PRK corrective eye surgeries are acceptable eye surgeries for applicants, and you will be considered eligible for this position provided specific visual tests are passed. Waiting periods are Lasik-2 months after surgery, PRK-6 months after surgery, and ALK/RK-1 year after surgery.
* Hearing loss, as measured by an audiometer, must not exceed 25 decibels (A.S.A. or equivalent I.S.O.) in either ear in the 500, 1000, and 2000 Hz ranges.
* Complete or secure an appropriate waiver for a 13-week Uniformed Police Training Program (UPTP) at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) AND a 10-week Mixed Basic Training Course (MBTC) at the Agency's James J. * Providing routine technical advice and guidance regarding protection and law enforcement operations, physical security, crime prevention, force protections and operations security.

Job Summary
In this position, University Police Officers, serve as multi-skilled professionals performing the full spectrum of law enforcement, investigation, and emergency services. The primary duty of this position is the enforcement of all applicable state and local laws; and the enforcement of university traffic rules and regulations. By vigilant observation and investigation, employees in this position will perform identification, apprehension and detention when appropriate, of individuals suspected of violating these laws. Essential Functions

Directs and controls pedestrian and motor vehicle traffic; enforces university traffic and parking rules and regulations; issues traffic citations under authority of MGL C 90 § 1c.
Patrols university properties and adjacent geographic areas (and areas subject to the provisions of mutual aid agreements), to ensure the protection of persons and property, and to detect and deter criminal activity. Remains alert for health and safety hazards, and theft or damage to property. Takes appropriate action to mitigate and/or report hazards and damage.
Operates motor vehicles and conducts patrols using marked, semi-marked, and unmarked police cars, motorcycles, bicycles, horses, ATV's, and on foot. May operate pick-up truck/trailer combinations and other task specific vehicles.
Aids and assists all persons in danger of physical harm, or victims of crime, accidents, or illness.
Maintains order at the scene of public assemblies and gatherings, protests, marches, concerts, sporting, and other special events.
Responds to civil disorder, civil disobedience, and potentially riotous situations involving large or unruly crowds. Trains in and performs crowd control tactics. Restores public order and quality of life.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions
Duties require extended periods of outdoor work and exposure to conditions including temperatures that may range from below freezing to in excess of 100 degrees. The department requires employees to be physically and mentally able to adjust to work in changing environments and conditions. Emergency service and law enforcement work requires entry into hazardous environments; exposure to dangerous persons, animals, and substances; and exposure to infectious diseases. A wide range of personal protective equipment is required to be used and maintained, some of which may be uncomfortable or inconvenient to wear. Adherence to specific safety procedures and other precautions is required.
Physical Agility is required to access all areas of campus. Rigorous field work requires above average physical performance, endurance, and superior conditioning. Officers who work in the five boroughs of New York City or in Nassau, Suffolk, Rockland, or Westchester counties will receive an additional $1,762 annual downstate adjustment.

HOURLY RANGE: $26.78 - $38.51 DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: The work involves providing public safety at buildings and property at the Erie County Medical Center Corporation (ECMCC) and off-campus ECMCC facilities to ensure the protection of staff, patients and visiting public. This is a public safety position responsible for patrolling and monitoring the activities to identify and prevent crimes and other disorders and is designated as a Peace Officer under Article 2.10 of the New York State Criminal Procedure Law. The incumbent identifies potentially dangerous situations and takes appropriate action to prevent or minimize danger to hospital property and injury to employees, visitors and patients. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Senior Hospital Public Safety Officer or higher-level public safety employee but must exercise judgment in emergency situations or when supervision is not available. JOB SUMMARY:
Under specific supervision, supervises other officers, dispatchers and campus safety personnel, and patrols the campus environs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Serve as Shift Supervisor on a regular basis sixteen (16) hours per week and on an as needed basis;
