A fully trained Border Patrol Agent may be eligible for up to an additional 25% of base pay per the BPA Pay Reform Act of 2014. This is a career ladder position with a grade level progression of GL-5, GL-7, GL-9, GS-11, and GS-12. You will be eligible for a promotion to the next higher grade level (without re-applying) once you successfully complete 52 weeks in each grade level.

Physical Requirements
The minimum physical requirements of Security Officers include

The ability to ascend and descend fixed or portable ladders to access roof and other areas in the event of an emergency.
The ability to be certified and correctly perform CPR, unassisted, as defined by the American Heart Association and operate an automatic external defibrillator.

Job Summary:
Under supervision, the Correctional Officer performs work involving the care and custody of inmates in the County detention facility in accordance with prescribed regulations, DOC standards, ordinance and law. Further, this position performs other duties as required by their immediate supervisors above. Staff must be able to work a 2-2-3 schedule. This position is scheduled to work 84 hours every 2 weeks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Maintains safety and security throughout the entire facility.
* Supervises and care for inmates of the County Jail within established policies and procedures.
* Assist and "set-up" video court process.
* Maintain certification and attend and/or participate in all training activities.
* Maintains discipline by enforcing the rules and regulations pertaining to the facility and may employ a reasonable amount of force to quell disturbances and maintain discipline.

* Observes the inmate population and makes periodic reports regarding their attitude and behavior. Also recognizes various types of inmate behavior and takes appropriate action to supervise this troubled population (i.e. suicide ideation, etc.)
* Prepares, presents and maintains written and oral reports and records (documentation) as required.
* Distributes and records prescribed and PRN medications to the inmate population and may be required to administer basic first aid or CPR or both.
* Consults and alerts contracted medical professionals regarding perceived inmate medical and mental health needs.
* Creates the first impression of all visitors to the Shawano County Jail/WRC Facilities, regardless of means (i.e. telephone, professional visitor, public visitation, etc.).

* High School Diploma or GED
* Three years of post high school work experience is preferred, most appropriately in a civil or military detention facility. All correctional officers will be required to attend and successfully complete a 160-hour Jail Training School and all other schooling and training required.

This Transportation Security Officer position is located in Transportation Security Administration, Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Qualifications
To qualify for the SV-D pay band (equivalent to the GS-5/6), you must meet one of the qualification requirements (A OR B) outlined below:
A. Experience: At least one year of full-time work experience In the security Industry, aviation screening, or as an X-ray technician.
OR
B. Education: Have a high school diploma, General Educational Development (GED), High School Equivalency Test (HiSET), or Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC) high school equivalency certificate.
Credit for experience is given based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited on a part-time ratio, i.e., working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience. No additional credit is given for overtime.
National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. TSO Dress and Appearance Responsibilities: TSOs must adhere to the current Master Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). For example, with the exception of half-inch diameter stud-style earrings, non-protruding ear gauges or spacers that match your skin and do not exceed one half-inch diameter, inconspicuous nose or tongue piercings that match your skin or tongue, body piercings may not be visible to the public. The CBA dictates if you have a tattoo that would be visible beyond the standard TSO uniform in areas such as the head and face including a partial tattoo that extends more than one inch beyond the upper neck or behind the ear, it could potentially render you ineligible for the position unless it was able to be covered at all times and not visible to the general public. Additionally, tattoos that are indecent, commonly associated with gangs, extremists, and/or supremacist organizations or that advocate sexual, racial, or religious discrimination, or have a negative impact on TSA's ability to carry out its mission must be covered at all times.

TSA is an excepted service agency. Employment with TSA does not confer the "Competitive Status" that generally results from selection and service in Competitive Service agencies. However, permanent employees who have at least one year of continuous service with TSA will be eligible to apply for positions in other Federal agencies under the OPM-DHS Interchange Agreement.

TSA will not make a monetary payment for any leave forfeited under these circumstances.
