Qualifications: GL-9: You qualify for the GL-9 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: ¡ Performing physical searches of detained individuals, their vehicles, and their immediate surroundings for weapons, contraband, currency, and other evidence. ¡ Apprehending, physically restraining, or working with law enforcement officials to identify or apprehend violators of state, federal, or immigration laws. ¡ Proficient in the use of firearms, preparing investigative reports, serving court orders (e.g., warrants, subpoenas, etc.), and gathering evidence for criminal cases prosecuted through the court system. If you have previous or current law enforcement or military law enforcement experience, you may qualify at the GS-11 grade level. GS-11: You qualify for the GS-11 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, with the authority granted by the state or government to enforce laws, make arrests, and investigate crimes, performing primary duties in an official law enforcement capacity such as: ¡ Utilizing intelligence information to track illegal operations, criminal activity, threats to our nation, and/or contraband while serving as a state, federal, or military law enforcement official. ¡ Leading investigations of fraud, contraband, criminal activity, threats to our nation, and/or illegal operations to determine sources and patterns while serving as a state, federal, or military law enforcement official. ¡ Apprehending violators of state, federal, or immigration laws by utilizing various forms of complex technology that include surveillance, detection, situation awareness systems, and/or communications equipment. Officers receive direction from the Chief of Police and carry our those assignments in accordance with established operating procedures, but at all times an officer must be able to act without direct supervision. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and/or RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Exercise authority consistent with the obligation imposed by the oath of office. Patrol assigned areas on the Omaha Reservation to enforce laws, investigate crimes, and arrest violators. Shall promptly obey all legitimate orders. Drives vehicles though assigned areas, observing and investigates disturbances, such as unlawful intrusions, fines and property damage. Patrols designed areas of the reservation on foot, motorcycles, bicycles, horse, or car to serve and protect the public. Apprehends unauthorized persons found on property, using force if necessary, and releasing them to custody of authorities at facility. Writes case reports and keeps a daily log. As a Security Officer - Surveillance, you will be the person spotting threats before they escalate in environments such as a security operations centers, call centers, parking gatehouses, etc. What's in it for you: * Site Location: Hospers, IA * Full-time, 2nd Shift, Sunday, Tuesday through Thursday, 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. * Competitive hourly wage of $17.00 / hour (DailyPay is available for GardaWorld employees!) * A comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance plans, a 401(k) retirement savings plan with employer matching contributions, paid time off (PTO) policy, paid holidays, disability coverage, and life insurance options * Career growth opportunities at GardaWorld * Uniform provided at no cost Responsibilities of Surveillance Security Guard * Monitor security systems to detect any suspicious activity * Document observed events and incidents, writing detailed reports * Respond quickly to incidents or potential threats * Conduct regular patrols to ensure the safety of the premises * Control access to secure areas and verify the identities of visitors * Analyze security systems to identify potential vulnerabilities or malfunctions * Collaborate with law enforcement in case of serious situations or emergencies * Ensure the safety and protection of individuals and property Qualifications of a Surveillance Security Guard * Be authorized to work in the U.S. * Be able to provide documentation of High School Diploma or GED * Be able to ace (and pass) an extensive screening process * Strong report writing skills * Good eyesight and excellent abilities to maintain focus * Strong proficiency with technology * If you have Security, Military, Law Enforcement experience - even better! * Must be available to work holidays * Must be at least 21 years of age * Must have a valid driver's license * Must be able to obtain/maintain an IA state private security license (GardaWorld will help to obtain) In the United States, GardaWorld Security remains the only guarding security company to be Certified by Great Place to Work.
