Poly-America, L.P. is currently seeking a Process Engineer to join our Process Improvement Department. Poly-America produces several lines of polyethylene products including high quality trash bags, construction and agricultural films.
Dedicated to providing the highest quality polyethylene products, our team of chemical, mechanical, electrical and process engineers is at the forefront of modern plastics technology. The company's innovative design team is responsible for several technological breakthroughs in blown-film extrusion and bag making. We also maintain one of the most sophisticated on-site labs in the plastics industry.
Responsibilities
Process Engineers at Poly-America are responsible for monitoring, controlling, evaluating and improving blown film extrusion and converting.
Ensure production lines are operating within established parameters. Determine main cause of process variation and drive corrective action.
As directed by the plant manager, coordinate with corporate process engineering group to execute changes to process and procedures in order to reduce variability, reduce manufacturing costs, improve product quality, and improve operating efficiency.
Provide leadership, technical support and training to operations and maintenance employees on established processes, implementation of new procedures and equipment upgrades, and analytical problem solving techniques.
Monitor and maintain machine control records equipment condition to ensure high performance and run-time.
Document, recommend, and implement process and procedural proposals based on a combination of data analysis and process reviews.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
Process or industrial engineering experience is a plus.
A strong desire to manage projects and processes from conceptualization to implementation.
The ability to drive process solutions by working with leadership in the other relevant engineering, maintenance, and production groups.
Statistical Process Control knowledge.
Successfully passing a drug screen is required for this position.

May be required to perform receiving inspection.
Review at the beginning of the shift the Quality Auditors assistance and validated the Check List.
Scrap disposition at MRB in less than 24 hours.
Assure that the Customer implementation activities are in place.
Meet the SSYMA requirements (boats, goggles, gloves, ear plugs).
Review the SPC data and confirm the actions are effective.
Validate the tooling and gauges are working properly (microscope, magnifier, etc).
Qualifications:
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, technical training, or equivalent experience.

About the Job:
The Process Operator will ensure safe and efficient operation of various processing circuits/equipment including but not limited to: carbon-in-leach, resin-in-leach, elution (carbon/resin), autoclaves, roasters, thickeners, retort/induction furnaces, solution balance, sample collection, data recording, retrieval of sample data.
Responsibilities:
Perform manual labor in support of general plant clean-up and assist other process operators.
Perform all pre-shift, pre-op and workplace inspections as required.

Follow good housekeeping practices
Only operate equipment or systems for which training has been provided.
Comply with state and federal health and safety regulations.
Conduct routine equipment inspections to identify conditions or defects that may impact employee safety, environmental compliance, property damage or reliability of equipment and take necessary steps to mitigate defects. (Make basic repairs if employee has training, skill, and knowledge or generate work request in work management system.)
Conduct detailed equipment inspections as assigned, document deficiencies and generate work requests. (Safety equipment and plant equipment)
Maintain circuit operating parameters within designated limits
Ensure all sampling is conducted at designated intervals, accurately processed, and results documented as defined by procedure

Required Qualifications & Skills:

Responsibilities
* Utilize scientific molding principles to establish capable processes for new and existing tooling
* Execute validation protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ) that comply with FDA regulations
* Troubleshoot technical issues and lead root cause/corrective action investigations
* Support Operational Excellence by identifying and executing initiatives that lead to improved performance
* Provide technical coaching and feedback to production employees and the support team
* Ensure complex molds are installed and removed according to the setup sheets and instructions
* Inspect molded parts using basic metrology tools and equipment
* Ensure no production time or yield is lost because of faulty setup

Quality TechnicianResponsible for executing corporate and plant specific Food Safety, Quality and Laboratory requirements. The QA Technician reports to QA Manager. In the absence of the Quality Assurance Technician, the QA Manager or designate will assume the job duties.
Essential Functions
Ensure all parameters of food safety and quality are being adhered to and maintained throughout the facility.
Assist with batching chemicals/ingredients for production.
Calibrate lab and line equipment for accurate results.
Collect in-process and finished product samples.
Conduct standardized qualitative and quantitative testing to ensure it meets specifications.
Perform aseptic testing for microbial contamination.
Follow protocols for documenting testing results.
Recognize deficiencies and initiate proper follow-up.
Identify and isolate product that does not meet standards.
Aid in troubleshooting deficiencies and non-conformances.
Review food safety and quality records.
Actively participate in plant teams (HACCP, Safety, etc.)
