As a member of the Research, Teaching, and User Services (RTUS) leadership team, the Head of User Services contributes to strategic planning and fosters collaboration across units to strengthen the integration of public service functions with research support and instructional initiatives. Through thoughtful assessment and innovation, this role advances the library's mission to provide welcoming and equitable access to information, resources, and learning opportunities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
45 % of Time: Public Services and Access Support Leadership
Working closely with the division's leadership team, creates training and documentation for the Library's tiered reference services provided by staff and student assistants.
Coordinates the unit's tiered reference programs and liaises with the Head of Research Services and the Head of Information Literacy & Student Engagement to ensure alignment and continuity with the in-depth research support provided by Subject and Teaching Librarians.
Establishes high standards and performance indicators for the quality of services and workflows provided by the unit; conducts regular assessment and feedback in order to ensure continuous improvement.
Liaises with Collections, Metadata, & Resource Sharing (CMRS) and Distinctive Collections & Digital Scholarship (DCDS) on overlapping workflows, processes and policies (e.g., holds/recalls, tech lending, WMS, and course readings)
Leads the development, recommendation, and administration of access services policies, procedures, and processes.
Facilitates the collection and reporting of relevant data associated with access services (e.g., circulation data), and when needed performs statistical analysis in order to evaluate policies and services.
Maintains and continuously expands knowledge of relevant library systems and technologies in order to identify and implement improved workflows.
Works with the division's leadership group to set divisional goals and priorities and to develop a scaffolded internal professional development program aimed at expanding skills and capacity of librarians, staff, and students working in the division.
45% of Time: Unit Leadership
Works closely with facilities staff, including Associate Dean of Operations and Strategy, to ensure the Library's public spaces meet accessibility standards, security issues are addressed (in collaboration with Campus Safety), and overall user experience needs are being met. This includes reporting problems/challenges, making recommendations for improvements, and participating in assessing public spaces
Oversees the operations of all functional areas within the unit: circulation and equipment checkout, access to course readings, missing/replacements review, holds/recalls, billing, patron accounts maintenance, and stacks maintenance and materials handling.
Has overall responsibility and accountability for providing planning and direction to functional areas within the unit, with an emphasis on ensuring high quality, user-centered, proactive, and responsive services.
Stays abreast of trends and innovations relevant to access services and recommends adoption as relevant.
Participates in library-wide planning and assessment projects through service on committees, task forces, and special projects. Serves on Library, TCCS, and Claremont Colleges' committees and task forces as assigned.
Actively engages in networking and professional development through national/regional/local organizations through committee work, office-holding, presentations, publications, etc.
May staff the Library's Main Service Desk if needed.
Other relevant duties and projects as prioritized in the division and the Library as assigned.
10% of Time: Student Assistant Program Support
Supports the User Services Student Supervisor in their managing of the administrative duties of the Student Assistant Program, including processing hiring requests, approving timesheets, and liaising with TCCS IT on student assistant IT needs and issues. Serves as backup as needed.
Communicates with the Associate Dean of Operations & Strategy about the expenditure and tracking of the Library-wide Student Assistant Program budget, including collecting and providing data on student employment for annual reporting.

Under the direct supervision of The Claremont Colleges Library Head of Asian Library, the East Asian Cataloging Associate has three essential roles: cataloging Asian studies materials in print and digital format throughout the library; coordinating within and outside of the Distinctive Collections and Digital Scholarship Division for cataloging, digitization, preservation, and dissemination of Asian studies materials; Contributing to the Asian Library's outreach and programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
60% of Time: Cataloging and Metadata Services
Perform copy and complex copy cataloging for materials in Asian Library, Special Collections, the general collection, Claremont Colleges Digital Library, and Scholarship @ Claremont by adhering to guidelines established by RDA, AACR2, BIBCO Standard Records, DCRM, MARC 21 format, CONSER Cataloging Manual, OCLC Bibliographic Formats and Standards and the department and Library policies.
Perform routine catalog maintenance by adding, withdrawing, or transferring items and by enhancing content to improve discoverability, including the use of controlled vocabularies, provenance tracings, and other special collections notes.
Perform authority work by creating and updating NACO authority records and updating bibliographic headings in catalog records to maintain a controlled vocabulary, increase discoverability of library materials, and contribute to the Library of Congress Name Authorities database.
Assign subject headings and Cutter and classification numbers as needed for classified library materials.
20% of Time: Coordination
Coordinate with the Collections, Metadata, and Resource Sharing (CMRS) division on all facets of bibliographic control of Asian Library materials.
Coordinate with the Digital Initiatives and Production Unit on digitization of and metadata creation for Asian Library materials.
Coordinate with the Digital Scholarship Unit on data services and digital scholarship related projects for Asian Library materials, including dissemination efforts such as print and digital publishing.
Coordinate with the Special Collections and Archives on Aeon (patron registration and request system) requests of Asian Library special collections materials, and coordinate the flow of materials in and out of the Asian Library.
Coordinate with Resource Sharing and Materials Handling Unit for access to Asian Library materials, stacks maintenance and other collection management projects such as shelf reading, inventory, shifting, and related tasks.
Participate in library-wide activities by leading and serving on teams, committees, and task forces.
20% of Time: Asian Library Team
Participate as an active and engaged team member by attending Asian Library meetings to discuss priorities and assist with solutions and by contributing to Asian Library planning and goal setting in support of the Library's strategic initiatives and priorities. Essential Functions:
Under guidance of archival supervisor, the fellow will:
Process manuscript/ archival collections following national standards and best practices.
Survey archival collections and appraise their archival value to determine the need for permanence.
Write a processing work-plan identifying the series arrangement in a collection.
Sort and arrange the collection based on the identified series.
Re-house the collection identifying items requiring conservation work.
Label and number folders and boxes.
Create inventory at item, folder or box level - depending on collection.
Complete all components of the finding aid including front matter, a biographical history or an organizational history, scope and content note, series description, and folder - level containing listing.
Enter data into Archivists' Toolkit (or similar archival software) for finding aid production.
Required Qualifications:
Enrolled students at The Claremont Colleges with academic interests in arts and design, humanities, social sciences, or archival work.
Preferred Experience Summary:
Reading knowledge of a second language- Spanish, Russian, German, French.
Required Knowledge and Critical Skills:
Demonstrated ability to work independently and yet does not hesitate to raise questions as needed.
Excellent computer skills, such as experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Commitment to total hour requirement for internship.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The following are the fundamental duties and responsibilities of this position which the incumbent must be able to perform to fulfill the purpose and requirements of this position.
Clinical Responsibilities (Direct Client Care)
Perform psychological assessment intakes for a student population
Provide individual and couples short-term psychotherapy treatment to this college population
Provide Group therapy/modules/workshops on different topics of interest to the Claremont College student population
Provide On-Call crisis duties including being part of the MCAPS on-call rotation, conducting crisis assessments, and providing crisis appointments for the students at the Claremont Colleges.

Carry a clinical caseload of up to 23-25 clients per week

Clinical Responsibilities (Administrative Duties)
