As a member of the Research, Teaching, and User Services (RTUS) leadership team, the Head of User Services contributes to strategic planning and fosters collaboration across units to strengthen the integration of public service functions with research support and instructional initiatives. Through thoughtful assessment and innovation, this role advances the library's mission to provide welcoming and equitable access to information, resources, and learning opportunities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 45 % of Time: Public Services and Access Support Leadership Working closely with the division's leadership team, creates training and documentation for the Library's tiered reference services provided by staff and student assistants. Facilitates the collection and reporting of relevant data associated with access services (e.g., circulation data), and when needed performs statistical analysis in order to evaluate policies and services. Maintains and continuously expands knowledge of relevant library systems and technologies in order to identify and implement improved workflows. Works with the division's leadership group to set divisional goals and priorities and to develop a scaffolded internal professional development program aimed at expanding skills and capacity of librarians, staff, and students working in the division. 45% of Time: Unit Leadership Works closely with facilities staff, including Associate Dean of Operations and Strategy, to ensure the Library's public spaces meet accessibility standards, security issues are addressed (in collaboration with Campus Safety), and overall user experience needs are being met. This role documents and maintains an inventory of all substation equipment and spare parts, and provides accurate records for entry into the work order management system. Education/Training: LMFT/LCSW degree or doctoral degree (Ph.D./Psy.D.) in clinical or counseling psychology Licensed in the state of California Experience: 2 years experience working in a College Counseling Center Experience and interest/specialty in providing psychotherapy, group therapy, outreach, and support to the Asian /Asian-American / Pacific Islander college community. Experience in providing clinical diagnosis and therapy Experience in working clinically with college students or college-age clients and working with crisis situations including hospitalizations, suicidality, psychosis, Eating Disorders, academic management, working in a high-demand environment etc.. Experience in assessment, diagnosis, and implementation of interventions for depression, anxiety, alcohol/drugs abuse, and developmental concerns frequently faced by college-age students(18-25 years old). Competencies: Demonstrated ability to manage the fluctuation of clinical caseload and maintain appropriate records in a timely manner. Sensitivity to and embracement of individuals that represent cultural, religious, ethnic and lifestyle diversity. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills. Ability to work as a team member within the Wellness Center and throughout The Claremont Colleges community. Understanding of and/or experiences in residential, liberal arts college environment. Ability to work within a culturally diverse population while being aware of issues of difference, diversity, and social justice Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to work with an Electronic Health Records System for Client notes and scheduling Work Schedule: The regular hours for this full-time position are 40 hours per week scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday for 10 months (August through May). May be required to work holiday, weekend, and/or evening hours. Regular hours may vary due to the needs of the organization or business unit. This department has an adjusted holiday schedule in which certain holidays are worked due to students being on campus. COMPENSATION Pay: The hourly rate for this position is commensurate with the duties, responsibilities, and qualifications required for the position. The pay for this position is between $8,000 - $9,200 per month paid over 10 months.
