Temporary Pool Operator

(Year Round or Summer)

The Overview

In pursuit of service excellence, the Temporary Pool Operator provides facility monitoring for an aquatic environment for patrons of all ages and background. This position will ensure the safety of all patrons, ensure proper pool chemistry, repair and inspect pool pumps, filters, and plumbing, provide exceptional customer service, and other duties assigned. Pool operators also perform as lifeguards and must have lifeguard credentials. Pool Operators may serve as the aquatics shift leader and may provide direction to lifeguards on their shift.

What You Should Bring

Each member of our team is accountable for the outstanding delivery of services to the community. You should possess knowledge of water safety along with experience operating active public swimming pools with multiple user groups and activities. You will be responsible for maintaining a safe and clean swimming pool environment. You should lead by example, demonstrate a commitment to excellence, deliver exceptional customer experiences, and be available for flexible work assignments in the early morning, mid-day, evenings, and/or weekends.

You will have the support of and work under the direction of the Aquatic Recreation Coordinator and/or Aquatic Recreation Manager II. The hours will vary Sunday- Saturday 4:30am- 9:00pm with specials events outside of standard business hours.

The Opportunity

* Leads the aquatics team during each shift.
* Observes and enforces pool rules and regulations
* Performs daily pool chemistry, filtration, and custodial maintenance duties to ensure the safe and clean aquatic facility environment.
* Maintain equipment ensuring that equipment is safe, clean, and in working order and that supplies are adequate for operation of the facility.
* Administer emergency and routine first aid calmly with good judgment during all stressful situations.
* Responds quickly to all emergency situations and follows standardized rescue procedures per Red Cross Lifeguard training.
* Completes daily log and maintains report. Accurately and completely fills out required forms relating to aquatic facility incidents/accidents and submit to supervisor.
* Maintains continuous watch on the aquatic facility and participants to prevent injury and minimize or eliminate an aquatic emergency.
* Responds to customer questions and concerns in a positive and professional matter.
* Function effectively as a team member
* Performs related work as required.
