Carlos Vázquez was appointed Chief Financial Officer in March 2013. Vázquez joined Popular, Inc. as Executive Vice President in 1997 to establish and lead the Risk Management Group, which included the Credit Risk Management, Audit, Corporate Compliance, Operational Risk Management and Risk Management MIS Divisions. He also headed Popular’s Consumer Lending Group for Puerto Rico.

Vázquez holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with an economics minor from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York, graduating on the Dean's List and as a member and officer of Chi Epsilon, the National Civil Engineering Honor Society. He also holds a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard University's Graduate School of Business.

In June 2012, he was appointed to Operation HOPE’s National Board of Directors. Operation Hope is a leading nonprofit social investment banking and financial literacy empowerment organization with a mission to eradicate poverty in the U.S.

Mr. Lidio V. Soriano is the Executive Vice President of the Risk Management Group of Popular, Inc. since August 2011. Soriano served as the Chief Financial Officer of Westernbank Puerto Rico from October 2008 to April 2010. He also served as an Executive Vice President and Head of Retail Banking & Mortgage Divisions of Oriental Financial Group Inc., from October 2007 to October 2008.

Soriano held various senior positions at Doral Financial, Inc, from January 2005 to March 2006, including Chief Financial Officer and Risk Management Director. Previously, he served as the President of Doral Money, a New York based subsidiary of Doral Bank. Before joining Doral Financial, he served as Vice President in charge of the Mortgage Division of Citibank Puerto Rico.

He holds a Bachelors of Science degree from Cornell University and an MBA from Tulane University.
