Serán BioScience is searching for a Facilities Custodian to join the Engineering, Maintenance, and Facilities team. In this role you will be responsible for maintaining facility cleanliness, helping to ensure a safe and presentable environment for staff, clients, and guests. Duties will include typical custodial tasks such as floor and refuse maintenance, as well as other tasks within the scope of duties assigned by the Facilities Manager. Performs daily maintenance tasks to ensure the facilities are exceptionally clean and organized
Empties refuse containers
Disinfects, cleans, and maintains common employee and client areas, including restrooms, kitchens, conference rooms and lobbies
Selects and uses appropriate PPE provided by the Company
Removes, installs, cleans and maintains product dispensing equipment such as soap dispensers, paper towel dispensers and other dispensers as assigned
Changes batteries, tests for proper operations and adjusts dispensing quantities.
Cleans and maintains plumbing fixtures; changes batteries in automated faucets, urinals and toilets, removes and cleans aerators/screens, installs automatic flush valves, tests fixtures and adjusts for proper operation
Washes and cleans mirrors to a streak free finish
Wipes down and cleans all horizontal counter surfaces
Wipes down and cleans all sinks to include faucets and soap dispensers
Uses the appropriate cleaning method to ensure all toilets and urinals are cleaned and free of stains
Sweeps and mops floors to ensure they are free of dirt, debris, and foreign material
Restocks paper and feminine hygiene products and sanitizes all high touch areas
Uses ladders and associated appropriate equipment to clean windows, overhead lighting, air diffusers, exposed pipe, ventilation and other elevated building attributes
Transports trash to the appropriate collection point and deposits
Reorganizes conference rooms to the standard layout provided by the Facilities Services Supervisor
Performs routine maintenance on all floor surfaces, including carpet, vinyl, and tile.
Extracts carpets and furnishings as needed
Applies protectant to extracted carpets and upholstery
Performs deep cleaning methods to strip and refinish floors; uses and maintains hard floor maintenance equipment
Performs other scheduled facility maintenance tasks and assists Facilities Department
Assists in event set-up and furniture moves
Moves furniture and equipment, arranges tables and chairs for conferences and events
Performs set-up and breakdown of events, including tables, chairs, and related items
On standby during events to handle spills and remove trash
Recognizes immediate and potential safety hazards and pursues appropriate actions to resolve and report
Performs daily inspections of facilities and documents according to Company procedures
Plans and performs projects, requests supplies, performs work requests, and requests equipment repairs
Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working environment
Position could be asked to work a varied on-call schedule that may include evenings, nights, and weekends or other non-routine hours from time to time and in case of emergency

Required Knowledge and Skills
Basic math skills
Knowledge of operations of floor cleaning and carpet extraction equipment

ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL DEMANDS

As a vital part of the resort operations team, the Houseperson plays a key role in preparing rooms for cleaning, assisting with inspections after housekeeping and maintenance, and helping maintain our high-quality resort standards.
As a Houseperson, you will:
* Stock housekeeping carts with the right supplies and deliver them to the housekeeping team as directed.
* Deliver clean linens and supplies to housekeeping staff and collect buckets once rooms are finished.
* Collect and dispose of trash and soiled linens from guest units promptly and efficiently.
* Prepare, stock, and clean unit spaces and amenities-including patios, patio furniture, and BBQ areas-while performing light maintenance tasks.
* Support housekeeping staff with various tasks to keep operations running smoothly.
* Take on other duties as assigned to help the team and maintain guest satisfaction.
Qualifications
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Previous experience in a housekeeping or hospitality role is preferred.
