OUR HEAVY-DUTY TECHNICIAN
The primary purpose of the HEAVY-DUTY TECHNICIAN is to perform the day-to-day activities of the Environmental Services Department in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing our facility, and as may be directed by the CEO and/or the Environmental Services Director to assure that our facility is maintained in a clean, safe and comfortable
manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF HEAVY DUTY TECH
Ensure that work/cleaning procedures are followed.
Coordinate daily housekeeping services with nursing services when performing routine cleaning assignments in resident living and/or recreational areas.
Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments
Serve on, participate in and attend various committees of the facility as appointed.
Attend scheduled department staff meetings to assist in identifying and correcting problem areas and/or the improvement of services.
Attend and participate in new-hire orientation.
Attend and participate in workshops, seminars, etc., as required by the facility or the department in relation to your position.
Attend and participate in annual in-service training programs for hazard communication, TB management and bloodborne pathogens standard.
Follow established safety regulations, to include fire protection/prevention, smoking regulations, infection control, etc.
Follow established policies governing the use of labels and MSDSs.
Keep work areas free of hazardous objects such as protruding mop/broom handles, unnecessary equipment, supplies, etc.
Perform day-to-day housekeeping functions, as assigned.
Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments.
Clean/polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating/cooling units, etc., in resident rooms/apartments, recreational areas, dining rooms, offices, restrooms, etc., daily as instructed.

Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent.
On-the-job training provided.

Primary duties: conduct daily inspections of building exterior and interior; perform general janitorial duties; make minor repairs; perform general cleaning including sweeping and mopping floors and stairs, cleaning entry doors and glass, mid-day cleaning of washrooms, and other miscellaneous cleaning as needed; receive shipments at loading dock, move palletized and boxed equipment within the facility, organize storage areas, remove trash and recyclable materials.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for keeping above standard cleanliness of all interior common areas (lobby, corridors, restrooms, public areas, building entrances, parking lot, building perimeter/ grounds.
Responsible for moving the trash containers (lift 50 lbs) and help with small tasks like lightbulbs.
Support Property Management / Property Engineering team as needed to provide safe operation of the building.
Communicate with CleanOffice office staff and/or Operations Supervisor to keep them apprised of activity and information regarding the building's daily operation (utilize reporting systems when available).
During inclement weather, prepare to build for safe operation (position wet floors signs and walk-off mats at entrances of the building to prevent pedestrian accidents).
While on-duty, oversee equipment, materials, and supplies that are stored on-site to support the property.
Follows all safety policies and procedures.
Maintain a clean, safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and company standards.
Performs emergency service calls for any necessary work-related cleanup.
Perform other duties as assigned based on property needs and requirements
Respond to urgent situations as requested by building management.

Must be able to read, write and communicate clearly in English.
Preferred High School Diploma or GED.
Must be able to follow all directives assigned.
