We are looking for an exceptional day porter person to perform a variety of general maintenance and custodial duties in and around school buildings including plumbing, painting, landscaping, and repairs.
Responsibilities:
Maintain the general appearance of the exterior grounds of the campus by following daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance schedules
Sweeping, raking, and blowing sidewalks, parking lot, and common areas to keep free of rocks, debris, and trash
Empties exterior trash cans and picks up exterior trash
Assures exterior play areas and equipment are safe
Prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve appearance and growth
Sprays lawn areas with herbicides to control undesirable weeds as directed
Maintains all landscape equipment and tools in good working condition and demonstrates proficiency of use (pole saws, weed eaters, backpack blowers, etc.)
Power washes sidewalks, exterior of building, and fencing to keep clean and free from debris and graffiti
Exterior and interior paint touch up as necessary to keep the grounds looking in excellent condition
Maintains and makes minor repairs to irrigation systems, ensuring grass areas are getting proper watering
Rakes rock areas to maintain uniform spreading, especially around playground equipment
Driveline support, including setting up and maintaining safety cones and signs
Comply with chemical handling laws and safety regulations as required; maintain a safe working environment
Answer questions and interact professionally with school administration
Performs the necessary room set-ups for scheduled meetings and events (including daily cafeteria set-up)
Assists in building security, locking and unlocking of doors and gates
Assist with routine maintenance tasks such as light bulb and filter changes
Notifies Office Manager of the need to order materials/supplies,
Notifies Head of Operations/Facilities Manager the need for any major repairs, or additions to building operating systems
Assist with cleaning and maintaining building facilities including classrooms, break rooms, conference rooms, teacher work rooms, library/media rooms, gymnasiums, lunchrooms, nurses' rooms, stages and lobby/receptionist areas as necessary
Knowledge of HAZMAT regulations and Safety Data Sheets required

JOB FUNCTIONS

* Work well with other staff members by planning and following a definite cleaning schedule.
* Maintain and take good care of equipment and supplies.
* All lost and found articles must be immediately turned into your supervisor or the Director of Housekeeping.
* Complete daily cleaning tasks such as:
Clean, dust, wax, scrub, polish, vacuum and service guest rooms and patios daily in accordance with hotel procedures
Replace linens on beds and replenish guest room supplies
Empty waste baskets
Rearrange furnishings, drapes and room accessories
Provide necessary linen and amenities to guests
Stock and re-stock your cart for the preparation of the workday or the following
* If any rooms are found occupied or are in use and not listed on reports, report to supervisor immediately.
* If your team needs help after you've completed your portion, lend a helping hand.
* Report any possibility of pest infestation immediately.
* Report any damage, hazards, repairs, ad strangers in assigned areas.
* Return any items found in guest rooms, hallways, or back of the house to the Housekeeping department as a lost and Found item and writing: the date, where it was found, description of the item, and the name of the person who found it.
* Responsible for all keys signed out for the shift.
* Clean all corridors and service areas.
* Respond to any projects or requests developed by the Housekeeping management team.
* Handle, store, and label all hazardous substances safely. If any incidents occur during the handling of hazardous substances report immediately and refer to the information in the Safety Data Sheet.
* Perform any other tasks as assigned by the Housekeeping Director or Management team.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
