What You'll Do and Who We Are Looking For

Job Summary:
Under the direction of a Public Safety Commander or higher official, the Public Safety Officer performs general duty public safety work in the protection of life and property throughout the college. Utilizing established procedures, responds and takes appropriate action in the event of crime, fire, or medical emergencies. Conducts foot, bicycle and vehicle patrol on a random basis. Takes action when necessary in the enforcement of certain state and local laws. Provides a broad scope of assistance to students, staff, and public, ranging from dispensing simple directions to performing emergency medical first responder activities and intervening in situations of criminal or violent nature. Acts in place of a Sergeant when authorized.
Multiple work shifts and locations may be filled from this pool. Nights and weekends will be required.

- Two years of college level coursework in Criminal Justice, or related discipline. Experience in the field, including military experience, may substitute on a year for year basis for the college requirement.

Physical Requirements:
At college expense, must be examined by a physician and meet the following requirements: possess normal color discrimination, binocular coordination, and peripheral vision; possess uncorrected or corrected visual acuity of 20/20 in both eyes combined; possess unaided or aided hearing with a hearing threshold level that does not exceed 25 dB in either ear at the frequencies of 500 Hz, 1000 Hz, and 2000 Hz (or an average in both ears of 25 dB for frequencies 500, 1000, 2000), 35 dB for 3000 Hz, and 45 dB for 4000 Hz.
Must be able to: stand for long periods of time; walk, run, climb, bend, stoop and lift weights commensurate with need to perform medical and/or other assistance; sprint for short spans of time; wear a uniform and equipment weighing approximately 25 pounds; be physically fit and able to use physical force to intervene in situations when necessary.
Work Environment:
Must be able to work rotating shifts and days off with overtime as required, and early/late hours with call-back hours as needed. Must be able to work inside and outside in extreme weather conditions. May be exposed to hazardous materials, infectious diseases, blood-borne pathogens, steam, battery acid, loud noises, noxious odors, smoke and/or fire. Must be able to correctly use filter masks and respirator equipment. Must be able to adapt to rapidly changing environments and continual interruptions during shifts.
A current DPSST certification from the State of Oregon is preferred.

What You'll Do and Who We Are Looking For

Administer systems, system standards and system outputs related to Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD), Building Information Model (BIM) and project management software for active design and construction projects, district-wide college operations and archival purposes. Performs CAD/BIM assignments to create, modify, organize and maintain program documents and drawings. Uploads and downloads document/drawing files to and from program software and hosted storage sites. Works with internal and external requesters to develop document management and program information standards for managing and storing electronic and paper copies of drawings, specifications, and other project-related documents.
Duties:
- Develops PCC standards and best practices for document files. Works collaboratively with architectural and engineering consultants and internal college users to implement those standardized file formats. Organizes and maintains the inventory of all electronic drawings by project and campus. Provides support and assistance to internal and external users with campus, site, and building information.
- Functions as the system administrator and user of the CAD and BIM software. Some positions may function as systems administrators for project management software. Provides user access to program software and electronic storage sites for internal/external requestors. Responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting program specific software. Works with other departments to assure compatible and interactive exchanges of information.
- Utilizes maintenance and project management software to coordinate the collection and sharing of drawings, specifications, operations and maintenance manuals, correspondence, financial information and other project-related information to ensure timely reporting of information to program management.
- Operates CAD and BIM software to create, update and maintain electronic drawing and documents.
- Develops use of BIM tools and relational databases to support information for space inventory, reports and other college uses.

Knowledge of:

Under the general direction of bookstore management, ensures the smooth operation of a campus bookstore daily operations, supervises staff, handles customer service, and assists with inventory and merchandising. Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Auxiliary Services, the Senior Manager of Food and Catering Services manages the day-to-day operations of District-wide food and catering services. Leads the development, implementation, and administration of operational policies, procedures and processes in Food and Catering Services. Responds to inquiries from College departments, the community, and/or external agencies and supervises administrative services professionals, paraprofessionals, technical/support staff, and/or student workers.
Distinguishing Characteristics
The Senior Manager Food and Catering Service has a focused role in ensuring compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations. Designs and enforces safe food handling procedures, as well as compliance with food-specific laws and dietary considerations across the District. The Senior Manager of Food and Catering Services oversees multiple food and catering operations including direct supervision of management personnel, at each location. They are responsible for all procurement, installation, and maintenance of food service and vending-specific equipment. This role has direct oversight for all policies and procedures related to special event management in food services and catering.Responsible for integrating strategies that have the potential to significantly impact a broad student and staff population as well as the community at large. The incumbent applies specialized technical knowledge to resolve complex problems involving stakeholders with diverging perspectives and advocacies.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality, Business Administration or a related field required (experience performing the duties listed on the Classification description may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis).
- Five years' progressively responsible food and catering services experience, including three years of management-level supervision of employees (including hiring, assessment, discipline, etc).
- Must have a valid driver's license to operate a motor vehicle in the State of Oregon and possess an acceptable driving record.
- Must have an Oregon Food Handlers card.
- First Aid certification/card required (can be obtained within 30 days of employment).

- Experience in managing and building or rebuilding a Conference and Events department within a Hotel or Educational setting.
- Experience managing large operational budgets.
- Extensive experience in cash handling and revenue generation.
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse academic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of staff and students.

There are two categories of instructors to be considered for hire:

Faculty serving as a primary instructor must:

2) Clinical Instructors and Instructors for Lecture/Lab:

Building relationships with and advises students regarding programs and majors, policies and procedures, the registration process, degree completion, transfer, and campus/community resources.
Essential Functions:
* Maintains office hours for assisting students and prospective students with the advising and registration process, including assisting students with academic planning and referring students to appropriate resources.
* Provides enrollment management for caseload, as directed by advising leadership, including, but not limited to, following up with students about assessment, about registering, contacting at-risk students, contacting specific target segments, and following up on early alerts.
* Provides leadership, supervision and management for a team of program advisors. This including hiring, termination and pay recommendations.
* Works to build relationships with students on caseload by building rapport, reaching out to students, responding to students' inquiries within a timely manner, and encouraging students to meet with advisor at least once per semester.
* Maintains general knowledge of all college programs with special attention to students in assigned academic programs.
* Actively participates in their assigned academic program meetings and committees, as necessary or as directed by their supervisor.
* Actively participates in advising, program, committee, and curriculum update meetings to stay current on major/program information as well as changes at the college that affect advising and students.
* Utilizes tools, assessment worksheets, and technology during advising sessions, including but not limited to advising syllabus; student assessment and inventories; Owens Internet and Intranet; Onbase; student administrative databases; and academic planning tools, in order to assist students.
* Participates in ongoing advisor professional development provided by the college and the department as required by advising leadership.
* Collaborates with advising team and respective chairs for assigned academic programs to increase student success.
* Assists with planning and coordinating advising/registration, special events and projects on and off campus as needed.
* Assists with assessment and evaluation of the advising program and contributes to quality improvement initiatives for advising through the strategic action planning process.

The Business Administration (BA) Program at Portland Community College (PCC) invites dynamic, innovative candidates to apply for a full-time instructor position specializing in Business Technology. Serving more than 5,000 students annually, PCC's BA program is one of the region's most impactful business education pathways, offering courses through flexible and accessible delivery options-including fully online (asynchronous), live online (via Zoom), on-site at multiple PCC campuses, and hybrid formats.
