About the Role:
PGE is seeking a Power Plant Environmental Support Specialist to join our team in Clatskanie, OR. In this role, you'll provide dedicated environmental support for our Beaver and Port Westward power plants, with a strong focus on air quality management. This position offers the opportunity to drive compliance initiatives, collaborate on environmental strategies, and contribute to the sustainability goals of our thermal power operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Environmental Science & Compliance: Conduct research and analyses to support PGE projects, ensuring that all environmental regulations are cost-effectively met and that environmental risks are efficiently managed.
- Project Coordination: Lead or support small-scale environmental projects and field studies. Coordinate between internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.

Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in environmental science or a related field required. Master's degree preferred.
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in environmental science, preferably within the energy, utility or industrial sector.
- Certifications: Professional registration or certification preferred.
- Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations, air quality standards, and compliance processes. Familiarity with industry trends and regulatory development processes.
- Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, intermediate project management skills, and experience presenting technical findings to both internal and external stakeholders. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.) required; data management or coding skills preferred.
Physical and Cognitive Requirements
- Ability to work both in office and in the field, including navigating unstable or uneven surfaces, confined spaces, and elevated areas.

Compensation Range:
$87,225.00 - $145,375.00
Actual total compensation, including a performance based incentive bonus, is commensurate with experience, skills, qualifications, education, training, and internal equity. Department Overview
The Asset Risk Organization is responsible for identifying, quantifying, and developing mitigation strategies for risks to electric transmission and distribution assets, including system performance/reliability improvement and wildfire risk reduction. The organization supports several objectives to 1) complete accurate, timely reporting on system performance and responses to data requests from regulatory entities; 2) meet all commitments outlined in our Wildfire Mitigation Plans; 3) continue to foster trusted relationships with key stakeholders; and 4) provide ongoing technical support and manage technology development for existing and new applications.
General Purpose
The Asset Risk Program Mgr is responsible for coordinating the development of an integrated risk strategy aligning programmatic efforts covering wildfire risk, reliability, and resilience within a common framework. This position will support development, approval, tracking, and reporting on cross-functional work to achieve strategic objectives within the integrated risk strategy. As the operational and engineering risk environments continue to become more complex and expansive, the program manager will develop and apply the integrated risk assessment framework to identify changing and emerging risk and prioritize mitigation opportunities.
Responsibilities
Develop and formalize strategic objectives for operational and engineering risk mitigation programs including but not limited to wildfire risk, reliability, and resilience.
Prepare a risk strategy for electric system resilience including an integrated framework for risk assessment, data analysis, strategic objectives, and a strategic plan of actions and milestones.
Develop and manage implementation of operational and engineering risk mitigation programs in collaboration with internal and external working groups including risk analysis, risk response planning and prioritization, and work performance/progress tracking.
Interface with PacifiCorp executives on a regular basis to communicate progress, gain approval on business proposals and obtain strategic decisions.
Support regulatory activities by writing testimony, responding to data requests, meeting with regulators and other utilities, and providing content for regulatory presentations.
Coordinate across program and project teams to track, record, and report on progress toward company strategic objectives.
Conduct benchmarking with other utilities to identify best practices and lessons learned to incorporate into the integrated risk strategy.
Participate in internal and external workshops, conferences, and regulatory meetings related to risk strategy and mitigation planning.
Identify and prioritizing business requirements for technology support of program execution, tracking, and reporting in coordination with the Palantir Foundry product team.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Environmental Policy, Sustainability, Energy Resilience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
A minimum of 7 years utility experience in engineering, operations, operational risk management, or business planning.
Demonstrated knowledge of electric utility risk environment including but not limited to wildfire risk, climatological risk, and natural disaster risk.
Experience participating in regulatory processes including preparation of filings, delivering presentations, and responding to stakeholder feedback.

16.19.1 A Senior Station Meter and Relay Technician is a Journeyman qualified to perform all the duties of a Station Meter and Relay Technician and, in addition, shall be further qualified to perform all tests and adjustments and diagnose and correct trouble on the most complex relay and control systems. They shall also be responsible for a meter, relay and control equipment shop, including vehicles, tools, test equipment, spare parts and supplies provided by the Company.
A Journeyman Meter and Relay Technician is a journeyman with a working knowledge of substation protection, control and metering equipment. They install, maintain, test, adjust, troubleshoot and repair substation equipment which includes, but is not limited to electromechanical, solid state and microprocessor protective relays, indicating and KWH/KW meters, recording instruments including sequential event recorders and digital fault recorders, controls to all substation apparatus including breakers, transformers, regulators, capacitors, reactors and all associated equipment and remote control equipment including various forms of SCADA. They perform testing on substation apparatus such as power factor testing, transformer turns ratio testing, megger testing and other analytical tests as assigned. They may work in confined spaces and in elevated work areas, may work with buckets and boom trucks. They may work independently or with others, occasionally work long hours during emergency conditions and be responsible for tools, test equipment and vehicles.
Location
This position will be assigned to the 194-megawatt (MW) North Umpqua Hydroelectric Project which is located in south central Oregon in a remote area of Douglas County, about 60 miles east of Roseburg. Beyond a great career, this position affords the ability to reside at a travel destination. The North Umpqua River is recognized as one is one of Oregon's most beautiful rivers. Flyfishing, whitewater boating, camping, hiking, waterfall viewing, and scenic driving are premier recreation activities. The clear water, large Douglas-fir stands, and geologic formations add to the spectacular scenery. The river is known for a variety of resident and anadromous fish species, including summer and winter steelhead, fall and spring chinook salmon, coho salmon, and sea-run cutthroat trout. With the exception of some transmission facilities, the North Umpqua Hydroelectric Project is located entirely within the Umpqua National Forest.
On-site residency is required of this position. To support this requirement, Pacific Power provides employees rent free single family homes within the Toketee Falls community.
