About the Role Under the direction of the Lead Photographer, the Product Photographer works closely with the creative team, to photograph digital images that are on brand by referencing style guides and are produced within the production timelines provided. Assets created will be used over multiple platforms including digital, print, social, video, as well as external media needs. You will be responsible for creating compelling and purposeful images that depict each product's color, size, finishes, features, and function. Images should be well-lit, and well-composed, using elements such as but not limited to proper exposure, focus, lens selection, composition, colors, props, angle of light, and sets that align with established branded style guides. Demonstrates ongoing learning and self-development. Portfolio is a must to be considered. RESPONSIBILITIES: Ability to photograph in different styles including e-commerce, lifestyle, glamour, and commercial. You'll be responsible for creating visually appealing and meaningful images that depict the product's function, features, textures, and finishes. Able to deliver final assets in correct format and size to internal and external partners to be used across various print and digital platforms. Process, resize, color correct, and enhance images. Upload using correct naming and filing structure. Troubleshoots problems with equipment, doing small repairs as needed. Works with Customer Experience and Warehouse teams to request and return products. The photographer is able to keep track of inventory as it comes in and out of the photo studio. Performs other related duties as assigned. SKILLS: A keen eye for detail and a well-developed artistic ability. Well organized and able to manage time efficiently. Ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines. Ability to take initiative and demonstrate flexibility, apply active listening skills. Demonstrates intermediate digital photography skills: Camera & lens basics, studio lighting, and good composition. Proficient in Adobe Photoshop & Bridge, Capture One, and Microsoft Office. Solid understanding of artificial and natural lighting, and how it affects different settings, materials and skin tones. Excellent communication and people skills. Demonstrates adaptability; comfortable with ambiguity and a fast-paced collaborative environment. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPI): Ability to deliver photography that is in-line with brand guidelines, provided mood boards and/or outlined e-commerce standards. Maintain excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Practice sustained attention to detail and flexibility, with a focus on creativity and artistic visual storytelling. Practice time management skills and proven ability to meet deadlines. Finds a balance between organizational needs, personal needs, and team needs. Resilient. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: BA in photography, film, art, design or media studies; or relevant course work. 3+ years of recent and directly related professional experience in a commercial in-studio photography role/environment. Solid understanding of foundational photography principles, exposure, focus, lens selection, composition, basic color theory, props, angle of light, etc. A portfolio of work that showcases photography and editing capabilities and proficiency, specifically focusing on product. A self-starter who proactively drives design projects forward by identifying opportunities, anticipating challenges, and delivering high-quality work with minimal oversight. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Prolonged periods standing, sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time. Manual dexterity, physical mobility and some physical strength/stamina. Ability to arrange sets and lighting to capture professional photographs.
