Under supervision the individual will help to ensure that all documents/mail that is received is delivered to the various business areas within a timely manner. The Senior Compensation and Classification Specialist contributes to the mission of Plymouth Housing by playing a vital role in support of Plymouth's compensation program and policies. The Senior Compensation and Classification Specialist assists in the development, implementation, administration, and evaluation of strategies, plans, programs, and procedures designed to provide for equitable and competitive employee compensation.

The role conducts relevant and comprehensive analysis and develops recommendations to ensure Plymouth's compensation program is aligned with established compensation objectives. The Senior Compensation and Classification Specialist works closely with the Recruiters and Sr. HR Generalists to provide consultation to address any compensation-related issues and analysis to support high quality compensation recommendations.

This position is a regular, benefited, full-time position.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS



COMPENSATION - 90%


Serve as subject matter expert in compensation principles, Plymouth policies, and labor market trends to Plymouth staff, including organizational leaders, Finance, Recruiters, and Human Resource team members. Provides advice on pay decisions, policy and guideline interpretation, and job evaluation to relevancy and equity. Prepares and presents benchmarking data, internal equity analysis, and assigned pay to hiring managers. Assist in the development, implementation, administration and evaluation of strategies, plans, programs and procedures designed to provide for equitable and competitive employee compensation. Maintain the compensation structure, including slotting new positions and updating ranges to ensure accuracy. Conduct job analyses to ensure position descriptions are accurate, in alignment with Plymouth's Compensation Philosophy, consistent, and legally compliant; collaborates with managers to update position descriptions, as needed; assess position descriptions for clarity, internal equity, and relevancy. Provide counsel on requests for salary adjustments, new job titles, reclassification of job titles, and position reviews based on Plymouth's Compensation Philosophy and practices. Recommend departmental policies, procedures and tools that support classification and compensation in coordination with other Human Resources' policies and procedures; administer Plymouth's Compensation Philosophy and associated practices. Lead the creation of communication and training materials for hiring managers and delivers ongoing trainings as needed. Monitor the effectiveness of existing compensation policies, guidelines and procedures recommending plan revisions as well as new plans that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and organizational objectives; annually coordinates implementation and provides guidance to staff. Perform regular and ad hoc reporting and build visual tools to help inform decisions. Lead the participation in compensation surveys and/or purchases salary surveys to ensure compensation objectives are achieved. Provide support to union-related compensation matters during periods of bargaining. Stay current on compensation related laws and best practices.

Experience:
