    The Dotter Department of Interventional Radiology serves as a beacon of both internationally recognized research and locally delivered advanced clinical care. The Dotter Department of Interventional Radiology is a part of the OHSU School of Medicine, with its own admitting service and clinic. We provide all the diagnostic angiographic, interventional radiologic, and neurointerventional services to the OHSU and VA Hospitals. The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university's missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service. The individual hired for this position will serve as research faculty and lab manager for the Dotter Memorial Research Laboratory at the Dotter Institute. The role of the lab manager is to carry out and facilitate the educational and research projects at the Institute. This will be done under the supervision of the Director of Research, and the Director of the Institute overall. Activities include coordination of clinical and translational lab research, including protocol design, preparation and execution. The Dotter research lab offers additional educational workshops involving an animal model for which the lab manager is responsible to organize and conduct. We also support industry and academic collaborators by providing translational research support, device prototype testing, and running educational/teaching labs. The lab manager is expected to play an active role in reaching out to potential industry and academic collaborators to continue and expand our lab activities and scope. Coordination of maintenance requirements and updates of the research facility and interfacing with the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) will also be administrative responsibilities of the position. Our research focuses on how sympathetic nerve signaling remodels the tumor microenvironment to drive cancer progression, with emphasis on prostate and pancreatic cancers. We are particularly interested in the bidirectional communication between tumor-innervating neurons, cancer cells, and immune populations such as mast cells. Our lab integrates spatial proteomics, single-cell transcriptomics, and epigenomics, and advanced 3D ex vivo and in vivo mouse models to dissect neural regulation of cancer. We are specifically seeking candidates with a strong background in ex vivo and in vivo cancer models, including experience in mammalian cell culture, imaging techniques, and a deep interest in uncovering cancer-nerve interactions, whether from a neuroscience or cancer biology perspective. Scientific curiosity and the ability to work across disciplines are essential. The CADES group effort is divided into three areas: (Area I) numerical techniques for partial differential operators, (Area II) data-intensive statistical learning, and (Area III) optimization methods for data science. In addition to foundational issues in computational mathematics, examples of applied research directions include light propagation through optical devices, forecasting of weather, air quality, and drought, understanding progression of diseases like cancer and dementia, and multifacility location problems for warehouse and wireless services. All projects involve high performance computing and open-source scientific software products. Currently, we are seeking postdoctoral candidates interested in working in our team RTG environment. We currently have funding from the National Institutes of Health and the Department of Defense to conduct large longitudinal studies on sleep and concussion in young adults. The person joining the lab will be tasked with analyzing sleep and neuroimaging data and disseminating our findings via publications and presentations at scientific meetings. The candidate will also be tasked with supervising a team of research assistants, biostatisticians, imaging analysts, and lab personnel. Prior experience leading a research team is preferred but not mandatory. Required Qualifications PhD in Neuroscience or related field.     The goal of the Wolf lab is to understand synaptic plasticity in the nucleus accumbens and related circuits that underlies this persistent vulnerability. We use the incubation of drug craving model in which cue-induced drug craving in rats progressively intensifies (incubates) over the first weeks of abstinence from drug self-administration and then remains high for months. This model has translational relevance because incubation of craving also occurs in humans. Our experiments involve electrophysiology, chemogenetics, fiber photometry, translating ribosome affinity purification, and behavioral assessments. The lab is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar for a full-time program of advanced academic preparation and research training on NIH-funded projects under the guidance of the PI and senior laboratory personnel. Training will include intravenous drug self-administration and electrophysiology. Function/Duties of Position * Planning and designing research experiments; establishing priorities and schedules; obtaining cost estimates. * Data collection, processing and analysis, including statistical analyses, presentation of project results, and producing written documents (abstracts, manuscripts) on the result of analyses. Includes contributing to preparation of grant proposals to NIH and private foundations. * Training new staff, graduate students, and student volunteers. * Other duties as assigned.
