The Role:
The University of Chicago E&E Lab is seeking a full-time Post-Doctoral Scholar to help build and co-lead a portfolio of applied research projects related to environmental policy. The Post-Doctoral Scholar will work closely with the Lab's Executive Director, Research Directors, other post-docs and the Pritzker Faculty Director (Prof. Michael Greenstone); and collaborate with other faculty members at the University of Chicago, other top universities, as well as government agency partners.

Research Training:
The Post-Doctoral Fellowship offers continued training in preparation for an independent research career. Position Summary
Multiple postdoctoral researcher positions in Artifical Intelligence (AI) for Computational Biology and Bioinformatics are available in the Qiu lab at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). Dr. Yuchi Qiu (*************************** is a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics (BCMG), and a faculty member in the Center for Bioinformatics and Quantitative Biology (CBQB) at UIC.
The successful candidate will conduct computational research at the intersection of AI, bioinformatics, and mathematical modeling, applying these methods to study systems biology, single-cell genomics data analysis, and protein design. The candidates will work in a highly interdisciplinary and collaborative research environment, engaging in close collaborations with experimentalists in fields such as developmental, cell, and cancer biology, and protein/drug design. Renewal of the appointment is based on performance and the availability of funding.

General Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated research technician to work on projects related to pediatric brain tumors. The candidate will be primarily responsible for obtaining, organizing, and preparing samples for molecular testing. An ideal candidate would have experience working with tissue, RNA, and DNA and have mouse handling experience. These tasks may include breeding, genotyping, and collection of samples/data. Education and Experience:
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in a scientific major or related; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.

Postdoctoral scholar job in Chicago, IL
The Environmental Law & Policy Center (ELPC) is hiring a Natural Resources Scientist with a Ph.D in conservation biology, environmental science, fisheries/wildlife biology, or a closely related field, to advance and develop scientific support for ELPC's strategic public interest environmental advocacy and litigation at the national, regional, state, and local levels to protect the Great Lakes and the Midwest's public lands, wildlife, and biodiversity. This is a two-year fellowship position starting in spring 2026, based in our Chicago (preferred) or Washington, D.C. office.
The ELPC Natural Resources Scientist will work with our public interest litigation attorneys, policy advocates, economists, and communications specialists to provide science-based support for litigation and advocacy, educating policymakers, and advancing natural resource protections across the Midwest with a focus on the Great Lakes, public lands, vital natural resources, and wildlife. The Natural Resources Scientist will assist in developing the scientific and technical bases for ELPC's advocacy and litigation work to effectuate improved environmental policies and protections for the Great Lakes and Midwest, the addition and better management of public lands, and stronger and smarter regulations and permit requirements by federal and state agencies. RESPONSIBILITIES:

QUALIFICATIONS:
Ph.D (strongly preferred) or MS in conservation biology, environmental science, fisheries/wildlife biology, or a closely related field.

Excellence in identifying and evaluating scientific research and effective methodologies in natural-resource fields applicable to ELPC litigation and public advocacy work and in communicating complex technical and scientific matters in a manner the public and regulators will comprehend.

Experience working in a federal or state natural resources agency is a plus.
