ROLE OVERVIEW
The Bovine IVF Embryologist is an integral part of our global team to help bring
certainty to genetic progress in livestock. The Embryologist will work alongside team
members to perform all duties associated with embryo production, data entry, and

RESPONSIBILITIES
Complete Vytelle's specialized training program designed to prepare team members for fieldwork at our satellite locations for oocyte collection and in the IVF lab. (This will require travel to our training facility in Texas.)
Work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs), processing directives, production standards, policies, health and safety directives and regulations.
Maintain flexibility for working hours as IVF processes are time-dependent, includes some weekend work.
Travel to satellite locations with Vytelle veterinarians- may include overnight travel.
Prepare, maintain and plan collection-related tasks and equipment; adhere to standard collection workflow.
Conduct oocyte quality assessment at collection; identify and report any anomalies detected during collections.

Complete competency in latest technologies including, but not limited to: trophectoderm biopsy, oocyte vitrification, and complex micromanipulation skills

Handles stressful patient/customer situations appropriately. Ensures patient/customer and family confidentiality, respect, safety and security
Consults with embryology staff and Director about quality control concerns and advises
Helps troubleshoot equipment issues
Ensures that all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and policies (including OSHA) are updated and reviewed annually by all Embryologists
What You'll Bring:
Bachelor's of Science in Life Sciences or related field required; Masters Degree (or higher) in Reproductive Sciences or related field preferred
4+ years of IVF Lab experience (Advanced skills in Embryo Freezing, Thaws, Retrievals, Embryo Checks, Egg Freezing, Transfers, ICSI, Biopsy, and Cell Loading demonstrated proficiency in all routine embryology and andrology laboratory procedures including micromanipulation and biopsy of gametes and embryos)
Ability to work weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis with other teammates
Accredited by State as a Laboratory Professional if required
American Board of Bioanalyst (ABB): TS certification preferred
Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to build and facilitate good working relationships with staff at all levels of organization

PhD Research Associate - Emergency Medicine
Postdoctoral scholar job in Fort Worth, TX
The PhD Research Associate is responsible for developing impactful, sustainable research program in collaboration with core faculty, residents, and hospital network to advance knowledge and implementation of practices especially pertaining to acute emergent conditions particularly in vulnerable populations. The position applies expertise in implementation science, epidemiology, biostatistics, emergency and health policy, health education and related fields to generate evidence that informs clinical decisions in emergency medicine and improves health outcomes in emergency services.
The IES Research Institute is an academic research division embedded within the Emergency Medicine Department at John Peter Smith (JPS) Health Network, a public safety-net health system with a 3-year emergency medicine residency program. The goal of the Institute is to develop and support scholarly activity, research, and grants to improve health outcomes and healthcare delivery for vulnerable emergency medicine populations through discovery and innovation. We use a team science approach and prioritize research that informs practice. We are a growing group supporting 15 core faculty members, a 3-year residency program with 45 residents, and fellowships in administration, academics, emergency ultrasonography, and street medicine, among others.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for developing research projects in collaboration with faculty members as well as projects of interest aligned with the mission, vision, and values of Integrative Emergency Services.
Designs, leads, and manages independent and collaborative research projects that align with the mission of IES and the needs of emergency medicine populations.
Develops research in collaboration with core faculty and subject matter experts
Develops study design and identifies data sources to address research aims
Develops data collection mechanisms to address research aims
Analyzes data to generate novel results in collaboration with core faculty members, biostatisticians, and other content experts
Prepares abstracts, manuscripts, protocols, and funding proposals
Provides research opportunities to core faculty, residents, trainees, and students
Identifies and implements approaches to improve emergency healthcare services
Remains current with published literature, fosters innovation and participates in resident and faculty journal clubs
Mentors and supports faculty, residents, and students in research methodology, statistical analysis, and scholarly writing
Contributes to research education and training sessions
Leads or supports grant writing efforts, including federal, foundation, and institutional grant applications

Sound knowledge of procedures and regulations specific to the conduct of Emergency Medicine research and implementation programs; thorough knowledge of Good Clinical Practice Guidelines and FDA guidance
Preferred:
Postdoctoral training or research experience in clinical settings
Five (5) or more published manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals
Prior experience teaching or mentoring residents, fellows, or medical students in a clinical research environment
Experience securing external grant funding (e.g., NIH, AHRQ, foundations)
