1970

Nordic Printmail Oy acquires Atkos Oy, the direct advertising service company established in 1970, and the name of the company is changed to Atkos Printmail Oy.

1975

Afternoon deliveries are discontinued elsewhere than Helsinki, and they are discontinued in the central area of Helsinki in 1975.

1984

The domestic letter mail system is reorganized in 1984.

1990

Posts and Telecommunications of Finland becomes a state-owned enterprise known as Posti-Tele in 1990.

1998

In 1998, postal and telecom services are demerged into separate companies (Finland Post Group Ltd and Telecom Finland Group Ltd), which are wholly-owned by the State of Finland.

2004

The Finnish Post introduces a new consumer product: the self-portrait stamp, which comes second in the World Mail Awards 2004 review.

2011

The Finnish Association for Human Resource Management HENRY ry and Ilmarinen award Itella's project "More well-being through interactive and participatory management" with their 2011 recognition for action in the field of HR.

2013

2015

As of 2015 the group is headed by Heikki Malinen, and Arto Markku Pohjola is Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Posti is awarded a gold-level rating by the international research company EcoVadis for its CSR performance in 2015.

2016

Posti's net sales in 2016 amounted to EUR 1,647 million.

2017

Posti Groups omsättning uppgick år 2017 till 1 647 miljoner euro.

2018

On December 5, 2018, the Finnish government decided to transfer 49.9% of the shares of Posti Group Corporation to ownership of the Finnish State Business Development Company Vake Oy.

2019

The acquisition was completed on January 25, 2019.

Starting January 1, 2019, the business groups are: Postal Services, Parcel & eCommerce, Logistics Solutions, OpusCapita and Itella Russia.

The last quarter of 2019 was dominated by the strike of the Finnish Post and Logistics Union PAU. The Finnish Post and Logistics Union PAU’s strike began on November 11 and continued until November 27.

2020

In October, Heikki Malinen, President and CEO of Posti Group resigned and Turkka Kuusisto was appointed as the Interim President and CEO. In February 2020, Kuusisto was appointed as the President and CEO of Posti Group.

The new eCommerce unit strengthens Itella's position in e-commerce. Itella's Vision 2020: growth through e-commerce and the Russian market.
