2012

In May 2012, Postmates released ‘Get It Now’, an application that allowed the users to order from any merchant of the city, even from the ones, who did not provide delivery services.

Nabeel served as a partner at Spark Capital Partners, LLC, a venture capital firm that invests in startup companies, since 2012.

2013

In March 2013, Postmates launched the ‘One Hour’ delivery service in Seattle.

2014

Nabeel Hyatt has served as a member of the board of directors at Postmates since January 2014.

In February 2014, Postmates raised $16 million from Series B funding led by Spark Capital.

In December 2014, Postmates opened its application programming interface to merchants to allow small businesses to compete for delivery of consumer goods with larger companies such as Amazon.

2015

Vivek founded Offline Labs, Inc., or Sosh, where he served as chief financial officer and chief operating officer until its acquisition by Postmates in 2015.

Prior to joining Postmates in 2015, Rob was general counsel to Path, Inc. and associate general counsel at Pixar Animation Studios.

2016

Brian Singerman has served as a member of the Postmates board of directors since October 2016.

2017

In November 2017, Postmates expanded its service to Tucson, Honolulu and Mexico City (first international market). The company also came in partnership with Impossible Burgers and Shake Shack.

In November 2017, Postmates launched service in Mexico City, its first location outside the United States.

2018

In January 2018, Postmates announced a partnership with Ford to conduct programs and tests on self-driving technology to take delivery to the next level.

In September 2018, Postmates announced that it has raised US$300 million in additional funding, led by Tiger Global Management.

On December 13, 2018, Postmates unveiled Serve, an internally developed autonomous delivery rover.

Before becoming chief financial officer in 2018, Kristin served as senior vice president of finance and strategy, vice president of business strategy and director of growth.

In 2018, Postmates launched service in 134 new cities in the United States, bringing its total number of cities in the United States up to 550.

2019

In January 2019, the company raised $100 million, leading its total valuation to $1.85 billion.

In May 2019, Postmates changed its pay structure for delivery workers, removing a $4-per-job minimum pay guarantee, changing the base rate per job, and changing the per-mile rate in some markets.

Kristen Reinke has served as a member of the board of directors at Postmates since June 2019.

It ceased operations in Mexico in December 2019, citing a lack of growth and a desire to focus more on the United States market.

2020

In mid-2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic where demand for services delivering items surged, Postmates announced it was offering a selection of no-contact delivery options for customers.
