The position is remote, with up to 50% travel for on-site scoping, installation, and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
Design and configure camera, lens, filter, and lighting systems to support robust and repeatable imaging for automated inspection.
Perform illumination analysis using advanced lighting strategies (backlights, dome lights, ring lights, structured light, etc.) to improve feature contrast and reduce imaging artifacts.
Evaluate and select machine vision cameras and sensors (CMOS, CCD) based on application requirements such as resolution, sensitivity, and frame rate.
Develop mechanical designs-including mounts, brackets, and enclosures-ensuring imaging hardware is stable and reliable in active industrial environments.
Produce engineering documentation, layouts, and schematics using SolidWorks or comparable CAD tools.
Collaborate closely with vision engineers, controls/automation personnel, and plant operations teams to ensure seamless system integration.
Oversee contractors and vendors responsible for fabricating and installing imaging hardware solutions.
Troubleshoot and optimize imaging systems by addressing lighting inconsistencies, focus issues, vibration, or sensor configuration problems.
Lead field installation efforts, support commissioning activities, and fine-tune imaging and lighting performance during deployment.
Establish hardware standards, best practices, and documentation for scalable and repeatable systems.
Develop preventive maintenance procedures for imaging hardware and partner with plant teams to ensure consistent upkeep.
Implement automated monitoring tools for camera and lighting performance, setting thresholds and alerts for early detection of degradation.
Stay current with evolving imaging technologies, optical components, and illumination methodologies to enhance system capability over time.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, Computer Vision, or related discipline; or 8+ years of relevant hands-on hardware engineering experience.
Practical expertise with machine vision cameras, optics, filters, and industrial lighting solutions.
Knowledge of illumination techniques for challenging surfaces (reflective, textured, curved, low contrast).
Proficiency with SolidWorks or equivalent CAD tools for mechanical design and documentation.
Experience designing mechanical fixtures, mounts, or housings for imaging hardware in existing production environments.
Track record of deploying and tuning camera and lighting systems in industrial or manufacturing settings.
Strong understanding of optics, imaging theory, and sensor properties.
Ability to collaborate with software and machine learning engineers to align imaging hardware with algorithmic requirements.
Experience troubleshooting imaging systems in the field.
Proven ability to coordinate external partners for fabrication and installation work.

Independently performs Electrical Engineering activities for all phases of Electrical development and equipment design for a project of moderate size and complexity. Electrical Engineer (EE)
The Position
The Electrical Engineer (EE) for Above Group shall contribute and support the Power, Lighting, Grounding, Lightning Protection, Fire Alarm, and Systems or Low Voltage Engineering efforts for the Firm. The EE shall possess a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent, from an ABET accredited institution. This individual shall directly contribute to the Firm and its success through the application of knowledge and technical experience to effectively produce a quality design and ultimate product to the customer. The EE is also responsible for contributing to the growth of the team by leading and mentoring subordinate staff in expanding their capabilities and contributions. The EE shall execute design duties as required to ensure quality is always maintained.
The EE is an Electrical Engineer by education and experience, with the following characteristics:
Ability to combine personal judgment with project information and knowledge of codes and standards to implement design criteria.
Has expertise in Power, Lighting, Grounding, Lightning Protection, Fire Alarm, Communications and Electronic Security systems. Experience with Medium Voltage Equipment systems a plus. Priority given to experience with healthcare facilities, central plant infrastructure (generator plants and substations), and aerospace facilities
Demonstrates proficiency with load demand calculations, one-line distribution development, load flow, short-circuit analysis and arc flash hazard analysis.
Experience with SKM Powertools for Windows, Visual (or AGI32) and other applicable tools.
Ability to work well in a team environment as well as an individual. Communicates effectively with individuals in the organization.
Capable of interpreting information set forth in a Scope of Work, Basis of Design, field surveys and code research.
Project involvement: Engineer of record from concept phase, through construction documents and construction administration.
Directs and mentors subordinate staff of their responsibilities on a daily basis.
The EE is an Electrical Designer:
Basic knowledge of NEC and electrical calculations
Designs layout of lighting, lighting controls, receptacles, equipment rooms, and equipment connections in coordination with team members within the discipline, as well as project team members in other disciplines. Prepares panelboard and equipment schedules
Proficient with design drawing software including Revit and AutoCAD.
Performs system calculations. Sizes and selects system components.
Reviews shop drawing submittals, and travels to job sites to perform field verification.
Produces field reports and punch lists.
The EE develops organizational skills including technical writing and time management:
Uses excellent writing skills to author basis of design (BOD) narratives, design criteria documents, feasibility studies, condition assessment reports, engineering studies and reports, and other high quality highly technical written documents as needed.

Power your future with Qualus as a Senior Relay Settings Engineer. Do you have 7+ years of relay settings experience in major utility substations? If yes, we want to hear from you! Responsibilities * Design, specification, setting calculation, and coordination of protective relaying and relay control schemes.
* Modeling, short circuit and overstressed breaker studies as well as the protective relaying recommendations for proposed generation interconnections to a client's electrical system.
* Ensures all relay settings activities, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with the company's established policies and objectives, and with client design standards.
* Confidently and comfortably present technical solutions to key customers respond in real time to technical concerns and answer questions in a knowledgeable, articulate manner.
* Work collaboratively with the appropriate groups/ individuals in Qualus to develop and implement technical solutions that support the objectives of the Engineering Department.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with a power systems focus. An MS Degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of the BS Engineering degree. International Engineering Degrees will be considered.
* Experience in protection and control engineering and relay settings.
* Experience with CAPE and/or ASPEN
* Professional Engineering registration or plan to become registered.
* Professional Engineering registration in the working state a plus.
* Must have strong analytical and computer skills.
* Must be able to identify necessary software to complete needed design work.
* Strong communications and interpersonal skills.
* Possess ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of support personnel.
* Strong commitment to customer service and care. Highly motivated "selfâstarter".
* Proven multitasking skills. Excellent document management and organizational skills.
* CYME familiarity, reclosers/sectionalizing schemes/fuse coordination preferred.
