We are seeking an entry-level Cable Technician to support a large-scale data center construction project. This role involves installing, routing, terminating, and testing low-voltage cabling in an active construction environment. Candidates should be reliable, coachable, and comfortable working with hand tools, ladders, and construction documentation such as blueprints. Key Responsibilities + Install work-area outlets for floor monuments, modular furniture, and wall-mounted systems. + Pull and route cable using fish tape and other methods through walls and modular furniture. + Perform pre-termination tasks: organizing, dressing, measuring, labeling, and prepping cables. + Properly suspend and support cable using cable trays, J-hooks, D-rings, bridal rings, and trapeze systems. + Build telecom closets, including mounting backboards, racks, patch panels, fiber hardware, and grounding equipment. + Execute fire-stopping procedures, install sleeves, and pull cable through penetrations and pathways. + Terminate low-voltage devices and support ongoing installation tasks as assigned. Install a work area outlet for floor (i.e. monument), modular furniture (i.e. surface mount box) and wall (i.e. box eliminator). Drop cable down a wall using fish tape or other method. Route cable through modular furniture. Perform pre-termination procedures: organize, form, dress cables and determine length, slack, and label cables. Suspend and support cable correctly: Cable tray, J-hook, D-rings, Bridal rings, Trapeze. Build closets (Mount and install backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic and hardware). Install grounding for racks, equipment and cable as required. The Communications Technician performs fire-stopping procedures on fire walls, install sleeves, and pull cable through sleeves and core penetration. Terminate low-voltage devices.
