    Primary Duties and Responsibilities

    * Installing, modifying, troubleshooting, repairing, testing, calibrating and operating a variety of mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic equipment and apparatus used on large steam and power generation equipment.
    * Troubleshoot complex operational problems in a steam power plant relative to the supporting instrumentation and controls.
    * Troubleshooting and repairing carbon monoxide, oxygen, nitric oxide analyzers, and opacity monitors for combustion controls and air emission monitoring systems.
    * Overhaul, repair, and calibrate large pneumatic, electric, and electro-pneumatic computerized control valves.
    * Work with design engineers and consultants to offer a plant perspective on methods of work pertaining to installation of control equipment and other systems in the facility.
    * Read detailed control drawings to troubleshoot systems and review future installations.
    * Researching and ordering parts for repairs and new installations of electrical, mechanical, electronic and pneumatic control systems.
    * Repairing, replacing, and bending of stainless steel and other tubing.

    * Must be conversant with a wide variety of communication protocols such as Hart, Modbus, Data Highway, Data Highway+, and Fieldbus.

    Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.

    Desired:

    * Ability to organize and plan your work schedule considering the operational needs of the facility and the other trades.
    * Ability to communicate between the trades people and supervision to ensure smooth and continuous operation of the plant.
