Design and engineer utility-scale PV solar systems, energy storage, and microgrid projects between 5MW and 100MW+ in size. Projects include both standalone storage and storage plus solar.
Provide technical expertise and support in assisting clients in planning for integrating renewable energy resources.
Maintain a vast knowledge of existing and emerging technologies in planning the grid of the future.
Develop engineering construction documents.
Develop detailed equipment specifications.
Contribute to the continual development of internal distributed energy resource engineering standards, toolsets, and work processes.
Coordinating project design assignments and design teams locally and with other office locations
Travel to project sites from time to time to gather site-specific data, as required.
Contributing to or writing technical papers and reports.
Conduct system studies such as arc flash, load flow, short circuit, overcurrent coordination, ampacity, and grounding studies.
Coordinate communication and provide status updates to stakeholders as required.
Project Management responsibilities on small to large scopes projects.
Assure quality in design work by developing and following internal QA/QC methods.
Assist in providing leadership, development, and mentorship to new and junior engineering personnel.

What You Will Need:
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in electricalengineering with Power Systems Focus
3+ years' experience working in the electricalengineering industry
FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) Certification Required
PE (Professional Engineer) Licensure or the ability to get one within a reasonable time.
Experience working in commercial & industrial electricalengineering a plus
Master's degree in electricalengineering a plus
NABCEP certification or willingness to get one.
Knowledge and Skills
Experience with AutoCAD, PVsyst, SKM, ETAP, SEL Relays.
Experience with industry-standard design codes such as NEC, International Building Codes, International Fire Codes, and other standards relevant to the industry.
Working knowledge of applicable NEC, NESC, IEEE, and ANSI standards is highly preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize work and resources

Compensation:
Salary Range: $96,142 - $121, 224 annually
This salary range reflects the anticipated base pay for candidates with approximately three to seven years of relevant experience. Candidates with additional experience will be considered for higher compensation. The final offer will be determined based on the candidate's experience, education, and technical expertise.

Job Purpose:
An ElectricalEngineer III/IV/V will be responsible for project development and execution of delivery systems engineering and consulting services for clients across the US. **ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:**
1. Includes one-line diagram development, design of schematics and preparing wiring diagrams.
2. Responsible for setting protective relays protecting transmission lines, transformers, capacitor banks and other electrical devices. Includes fault analysis and coordination of protective functions.
3. Provide engineering and design for metering of DPC's transmission and distribution substations, ties with foreign power suppliers, and ties with municipal power systems.
4. Responsible for maintaining DPC's fault model. Includes entering data, performing studies, providing data to other utilities, consultants or member cooperatives.
5. Review and monitor system equipment condition according to established program requirements and initiate response to conditions as needed. Responsible for analysis of equipment loading, equipment ratings, protection coordination, system power factor, voltage regulation, power factor, etc. to ensure proper application of the equipment to avoid overloads and to optimize facility operation.
6. Working knowledge of applicable policies, procedures, standards and codes including but not limited to ANSI, IEEE, NESC, NEC and NERC.
7. Provide technical assistance and guidance to the Electrical Maintenance Department, System Operations Department, Planning Department, Generation Division and other departments in the areas of protective relaying, metering, transformers, regulators, circuit breakers, substation design, maintenance procedures, etc. This may include on-site support during testing, commissioning, start up and troubleshooting.
8. Responsible for the preparation of equipment specifications and purchase requisitions for equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, circuit switchers, regulators, capacitor banks, etc. Perform life cycle cost analysis of equipment as required. Evaluate proposals for this equipment and prepare recommendation for acquisition.
9. Responsible for substation grounding activities according to the departmental program. These include review of existing ground grids, recommend modifications to ground grids because of substation changes, design new ground grids and review of newly designed ground grids. Familiar with equipment surge protection and application of surge protection. Must be familiar with ANSI/IEEE Standard 80 and 81.
10. Assist member cooperatives with technical problems such as stray voltage issues, regulator settings, grounding, transformer loading, phase balancing, equipment ratings, etc.
11. Develop operating procedures for substations, capacitor stations and other electrical equipment as needed.
12. Assist leader with scheduling, budget, cost analysis, and manpower forecasting.
13. Prepare engineering studies related to stray voltage, power quality, safety, etc. as directed.

15. Represent DPC on technical committees or task forces as required.

A Design Engineer V will be responsible for oversight of substation engineering and consulting services for clients across the US and internationally. Essential Responsibilities:
What You'll Do
* Be the First Responder: Provide first-shift on-call support for break/fix issues and information requests related to relays and remote terminal units (RTUs).
* Troubleshoot & Escalate: Diagnose system faults, alarms, and outages, escalating complex issues as needed.
* Document & Share Knowledge: Maintain accurate troubleshooting records and compliance documentation.
* Support System Configuration: Assist with relay and RTU programming under guidance from seniorengineers.
* Analyze & Improve: Conduct data analysis to identify trends and recommend improvements.
* Ensure Compliance: Follow safety protocols and support NERC CIP and cybersecurity requirements.
* Collaborate & Learn: Work closely with cross-functional teams and participate in on-call rotations.
What We're Looking For
* Education: Bachelor's degree in ElectricalEngineering or EE Technology (or equivalent experience).
* Preferred Skills:
* Familiarity with control systems (RTUs, PLCs) and protective relaying concepts.
* Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams.

The targeted base pay for this position is $77,400 to $90,200 annually.* Base pay is one component of our comprehensive total rewards package which includes an annual incentive bonus, employer-sponsored pension plan, 401(k) match, HSA contribution, life & disability insurance, health care benefits, generous time off plans, flexible work arrangements, and much more.

* Learns basic internal and external customer needs and expectations and strives to identify problems and solutions within assigned work.
* Uses standard practices and procedures to diagnose, troubleshoot, and solve problems limited in scope with guidance from peers and mentors.

Job Purpose:
A Design Engineer III will be responsible for oversight of substation engineering and consulting services for clients across the US and internationally. They will work and lead multi-disciplined project teams to create industry leading designs for new projects, alterations and redevelopments on a variety of projects including transmission & distribution, generation, institutional, industrial, and manufacturing facilities. Opportunities to advance into leadership/management roles are available.
Responsibilities
Develop conceptual designs, execution plans, cost estimates, and project schedules for project proposals.
Work with customers to develop project and site-specific design scope documents
Execution of engineering activities such as:
Physical substation design including yard layouts, plans, sections and details, grounding, lightning protection, control building arrangements, interior and exterior raceways, auxiliary AC/DC power systems, and associated bills of material
Protection and control design including panel arrangements, one lines/single lines, three lines, AC schematics, DC elementaries, equipment wiring and relay panel wiring
Calculations for studies and reports (grounding, lightning protection, AC/DC load studies, etc.)
Equipment specifications for procurement and/or factory acceptance testing
Lead coordination of design activities with other groups (Civil/Structural, SCADA, System Protection, Transmission Line, etc.)
Suggest process, tools and/or technology implementations
Provide leadership, training and mentoring to less experienced engineers and team members
Regularly meet and correspond with clients or outside personnel
Perform quality reviews for other engineers and designers
Provide short term field support during construction
Support business development and marketing initiatives
Interest or active participation in professional technical committees
All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in ElectricalEngineering from accredited program
Minimum 4 years related experience (completion of master's degree in related field may be substituted for one year of experience)
Professional Engineer registration preferred
Proficiency with National Electrical Code, National Electrical Safety Code and IEEE / ANSI Standard
Strong preference for those with:
Excellent written & verbal communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
