As aMaterial Operatoryou will be a crucial part of our operations, ensuring that a quality product is available to our customers when they need them. Your work will directly affect people's lives! Primary Responsibilities Unload incoming trailers from plant or suppliers of finished goods using hand or electric powered equipment. Check incoming shipments and place material in proper storage bin locations while maintaining proper stock rotation of materials. Process all types of orders (pallet, small package, etc.,.) efficiently and without error. Use computers, RF scanners and power equipment as well as following distribution best practices regarding efficient workflow/processing. Prepare shipping documents for all outgoing shipments ensuring all required inputs are entered into the Oracle Warehouse Management Software. Understand and adhere to all applicable DOT, OSHA, EPA, EEO, ISO, and other PPG policies and regulations. Participate in inventory, cycle counting, and audits as required. Ensure times replenishment and identification of potential material shortages. Participate in safety meetings, safety observations, and all other required meetings. Perform minor maintenance as required on warehouse equipment including the electric/manual pallet jack, forklift and other special equipment related to the distribution center. Assists the Distribution Manager, Assistant Manager or Supervisor in the performance of selected duties or special projects as required. Qualifications One to Two years warehouse/manufacturing experience. Need to have basic reading, writing, mathematical and communication skills to process orders and complete paperwork. Previous experience in paint and or/hazardous materials is a plus. Good interpersonal skills, detail oriented, basic computer and organizational skills. Repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds and stand on feet for extended period of time. Previous fork-truck and hand-jack experience beneficial. Ability to work holidays and overtime as needed. You sign in, jump on a forklift, and start your first round of cycle counts. A bin location shows a discrepancy, so you trace the transaction trail, reconcile the variance in the system, and return misplaced product to the correct slot. Before sunrise, you've posted counts across multiple departments, verified accuracy, and generated reports so the day team starts with clean, dependable data. Because of your work, customers get what they need, when they need it. What you'll handle Perform routine cycle counts and record results across all departments. Post and reconcile counts electronically; investigate and resolve variances. Track down missing items and confirm correct locations. Review transaction histories to ensure accuracy and completeness. Part-Time Overnight Schedule This part-time role provides scheduling flexibility: * Days: Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday * Shift Window: 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM * Flexibility: Choose your preferred daily shift length: 4, 6, or 8 hours Tell us your preferred shift length when you apply, and we'll work to fit your hours within our weekend operating window! ► Key Areas of Responsibility * Accurately inspects, separates, slots, and packages all label/print products * Insures all quality control standards are being maintained. * Uses ERP system to log time and materials accurately. * Ensures all shipments are completed and all packages are shipped to the correct person/place as directly by the daily job schedule or as instructed by Lead, Supervisor, job ticket or customer special instructions. * Communicate problems or quality issues due to printing, laminating or shipping errors to the appropriate individuals. * Double check all shipments leaving the production facility for any errors before arriving to the customer. * May communicate with courier companies and drivers about delays in shipping, special courier deliveries, and other issues that may affect customer deliveries. * Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work area, uses required PPE, and follows all safety rules and procedures. * May be required to work overtime or on another shift as needed. * Other duties as assigned by management. * Regular attendance is an essential function of this position. * Compliance with applicable Company policies concerning maintaining a drug free workplace is required. * Compliance with all Company policies is required including all safety policies and procedures. ► Physical Demands * Stands 2/3 to full time on the shift daily. * Uses hands and fingers to handle, and feel 1/3 to 2/3 of the shift daily. * Reaches with hands and arms 1/3 to 2/3 of the shift daily. * Lifts 50 pounds 1/3 to 2/3 of the shift daily. * Requires close vision (clear vision at 20-inches or less). * Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors). ► Additional Requirements * High school diploma or general education degree (GED). * Ability to embody and reflect Vestcom's core values: ► Supervisory Responsibilities None. ► Management Disclaimer Vestcom's Management reserves the right to revise, change or modify the duties and responsibilities of this position at any time to meet business and organizational needs.
