Purpose Statement
The Machine Operator controls machinery to mold ice cream cakes in a safe, sanitary, cost-effective, and efficient manner that meets company food safety and quality standards. Also maximizing product quality / attractiveness through strong leadership and achieve individual outputs to support your team in meeting their production goals. In addition to assisting the Casting Lead in the supervision of molding cakes on the assigned line.
Key Accountabilities and Outcomes
* Prepare casting materials and set up workstations
* Ensure equipment is running to efficiency standards while producing a high quality ice cream product in a safe, sanitary, cost-effective, and efficient manner that meets company food safety and quality standards..
* Perform tasks as needed to ensure smooth functioning process flow
* Confirm department follows safety practices as well as identify and correct potential hazards
* Assist Lead as needed
* Complies with GMP and safety and food safety standards at all times.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
* High school diploma or GED required.
* 1+ years Machine operator experience required
* Basic computer skills including Excel and Word
* Self-motivated and ability to take initiative and use sound judgment in day-to-day decision making
* Punctual and reliable in work attendance
* Ability to organize and communicate to all levels of personnel
* Flexible and able to manage others

Purpose Statement
The Machine Operator II is responsible for setting up and changing equipment based upon product need, while adhering to all food safety and food quality guidelines.
Key Accountabilities and Outcomes
* Observes all safety rules and regulations including use of personal protective equipment.
* Follows all established Good Manufacturing Practices, including maintaining an orderly and clean work area.
* Must be able to set up, change over, adjust, repair and operate all machinery/ equipment, on all shifts.
* Ensures all equipment is in operating condition and ready for on time startup.
* Must have the knowledge and experience to make necessary adjustments to keep products flowing consistently.
* Performs process control and quality checks.
* Operates date coders and verifies code dates on cases.
* Observes all OSHA and facility safety rules and regulations including use of personal protective equipment.
* Maintains work area in a safe and orderly fashion according to General Manufacturing Practices and Safety Guidelines.
* Cleans all equipment using current sanitation practices.
* Assists Quality Assurance in obtaining samples of products and other miscellaneous duties.
* Responsible for basic troubleshooting of all processing equipment.
* Responsible for accurate, timely, and legible completion of daily production reports/ documents.
* Trains new associates.
* Performs any other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Job Summary:
Under the direction of the assigned Line Lead, assumes the responsibilities of multiple positions (Production Level I, Level II, Labeler Operator, Line Lead, EOL, and Special Projects) and performs a range of manual, technical, and machine-oriented tasks that maintain proper functioning of the production line and contribute to meeting the Company's mission of developing and marketing high-quality brands and running best-in-class operations. Depending on Production department business needs, Utility Operators may be required to do several different tasks within a shift, such as fill in for employees that are absent, provide extra help to complete the daily schedules, and help train other employees.
Qualification Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Essential Functions:
Performs various tasks to support the production lines, including: supplying the line, monitoring product, adjusting equipment and machines, dumping, stacking, hand packing, and quality control.
Sets-up and operates case packers, labelers, camera systems, case erectors, and palletizers.
Verifies product schedule and communicates critical information to incoming shifts and other appropriate personnel.
Leads shift set-up, which includes ensuring proper functioning of power, air, and all production line equipment. Makes sure all shift paperwork and supplies are stocked and located correctly.
Leads running employees through break schedules.
Performs line change CIP washout and cleans labeler parts and cap changes when the line moves to a new product.
Assists in the Rework Area, Special Projects, Tank Room, and EOL as needed.
Performs Line Lead's job responsibilities when needed, which includes working closely with team members to ensure all equipment operates efficiently and in accordance with production schedule in a manner not to sacrifice quality or safety.
Provides work direction and training to team members as assigned.
Screens full cases at predetermined time intervals to check for defects and completes corresponding quality check paperwork to ensure quality standards are met.
Repackages, recodes, and performs other custom casework as needed based upon orders received from the Line Lead.
Sweeps and mops the floor in the work area, removes trash from area, and places/crushes the trash and cardboard in the compactor.
Additional Responsibilities:
Maintains a clean production area and stocks cleaning supplies properly.
Actively participates in Lean Manufacturing teams to improve business processes.
Transfers skills efficiently when working in various Production areas
Performs other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor.
Documents production line down time on Thin Clients.
Generates I-Service requests.
Leads Lean Manufacturing teams.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must have good computer skills in Oracle, ACE, COLOS, Label View, Microsoft Excel, and Email.
Ability to read and write English and perform basic math.
Must have good communication skills, the ability to lead and work well with others, and the ability to be flexible and multitask to meet production goals.
Must have basic mechanical aptitude.
Must have the ability to work with a different group of people on a regular basis to accomplish daily workload.
Ability to use deductive reasoning in troubleshooting to solve work-related problems and require a minimal amount of supervision.
Must be able to lead a team by providing work direction in the Line Lead, Labeler Operator, and Special Projects roles.
Must have persistence in completing tasks under time constraints.
Ability to pay close attention to detail and have proper manual dexterity.

Minimum Requirements of Training and Experience:
Must have a minimum of 1-year experience in a manufacturing environment. Previous experience leading personnel and experience operating labeler machines and other production equipment preferred. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions:
The ability to tolerate 90°F heat. Frequently lifts materials and ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a non-repetitive basis. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and work a flexible work schedule.

Responsibilities of Machine Operator:
Measures, centers, aligns and positions screens for proper operation.
Examines product for ink smears, position of design, print clarity, color accuracy or other defects and adjusts equipment accordingly.
Ensures that the proper supplies are being used for printing.
Monitors automatic feeding systems for maximum output.
Performs preventive maintenance duties, such as daily cleaning and lubricating.

Ability to use AHMC Computer Systems to complete the following tasks:
Access work instructions
Check inventory
Locate production procedures
Interact with the Quality Control module to accurately fill out information in the AHMC Computer System
Operate CNC machinery to include but not limited to lathe, shapers, drills, parts washers, and gages
Perform part inspection using appropriate gages
Perform daily maintenance on CNC machines
Perform product inspection through check sheets
Interpret data gathered through product inspection

Starting pay is $18.50/hour with a $1.00/hour shift premium for 2nd and 3rd shift. Description
Responsible for operating conventional, special purpose and computer numerically controlled (CNC) machines safely to fabricate metallic parts to production and quality standards in an ISO9001 environment.
Responsibilities
Operates machinery/process (manual, NC, CNC) in assigned work cell or area
Ability to promote to next level, Machine Center Operator II: Learn/demonstrate repetitive ability to setup ALL Manual/NC/CNC equipment/processes in assigned work cell or area
Demonstrated ability to setup and operate ALL assigned equipment/processes in work cell, validation by Machine Coordinator and Production Leadership
Work cross functionally between machines and cells
Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining
Verifies conformance of work piece to specifications
Performs preventative maintenance on equipment
Confer with engineers, production personnel, programmers or others to resolve machining problems
Initiates and/or support process improvements and corresponding documentation
Trains other team members in assigned operations as needed
Follow Work Instructions for each step of the process to meet acceptable production standards during and after training completed
Maintain hourly/daily activity records supporting quality production
Assure compliance to all safety, environmental and health standards, procedures, and practices
Requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must “OWN SAFETY”
Experience using inspection gauges (ex. Calipers, Micrometers, Indicators, Go-No Go Gages, Pin Gages, Dial Indicators, Height Gage, Depth Gage, Thread Gage, Bore Gage, V-Blocks, etc)
Must demonstrate ability to read blueprints (title blocks, views, dimensioning, tolerancing, surface call outs, symbols, lines, etc)
Must demonstrate ability to use shop math as required (decimals three places or more, conversion of fractions to decimal, conversion of metrics to standard and reverse, how to determine angles and offsets, addition/subtraction/multiplication/division of whole numbers/decimals/fractions
Must be a proactive problem solver, willing to learn and accept challenges.
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time
Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and push or pull parts or containers frequently.
Ability to read and understand job instructions.

The Machine Operator I is responsible for knowing how the equipment works in order to setup, breakdown, and maintain; as well as being able to identify and repair simple mechanical issues. Position Summary:
As a CBC Machine Operator for Carl Buddig & Company you will be responsible for producing product by preparing and packaging cooked product for shipment with a safety - minded attitude that maintains and enhances a safety culture for the benefit of the Company and its employees.
DEPARTMENT: CARL BUDDIG (LUNCHMEAT)
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinates production operations of a line consisting of 4 - 10 people.
Responsible for product quality, workmanship, and methods applications resulting in above standard economical manufacturing costs and general line administration.
Coordinates the training of line personnel to maintain a workforce that is above standard in skill requirements, output, and daily schedules.
Reviews daily production completed compared to standards and implement procedures for continuous improvement.
Assures quality of packaged product by completing daily recordkeeping including, but not limited to: Oxygen testing; Seal testing; label compliance; assigning proper code dating for product being packaged; case counts, pallet times, box identification, etc.
Maintains machine by completing adjustments, maintenance, and calibration during set up, operation, and after changeover.
Performs general light maintenance and troubleshooting of machines and related equipment (equipment used for product breakdown [clipper tables, link cutters, Magnuson, etc.], label machines, vacuum pumps, case sealing equipment, computer printers, etc.)
Takes responsibility of work area to produce a safe and quality food product. Reports all food safety related problems to your manager and to the QA Dept. in order to initiate immediate action.
Requires a basic understanding of GMP's, HACCP and SQF guidelines.
Requires mathematical skills that require the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.

Position Summary:
As a CBC Machine Operator for Carl Buddig & Company you will be responsible for producing product by preparing and packaging cooked product for shipment with a safety - minded attitude that maintains and enhances a safety culture for the benefit of the Company and its employees.
DEPARTMENT: CARL BUDDIG (LUNCHMEAT)
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinates production operations of a line consisting of 4 - 10 people.
Responsible for product quality, workmanship, and methods applications resulting in above standard economical manufacturing costs and general line administration.
Coordinates the training of line personnel to maintain a workforce that is above standard in skill requirements, output, and daily schedules.
Reviews daily production completed compared to standards and implement procedures for continuous improvement.
Assures quality of packaged product by completing daily recordkeeping including, but not limited to: Oxygen testing; Seal testing; label compliance; assigning proper code dating for product being packaged; case counts, pallet times, box identification, etc.
Maintains machine by completing adjustments, maintenance, and calibration during set up, operation, and after changeover.
Performs general light maintenance and troubleshooting of machines and related equipment (equipment used for product breakdown [clipper tables, link cutters, Magnuson, etc.], label machines, vacuum pumps, case sealing equipment, computer printers, etc.)
Takes responsibility of work area to produce a safe and quality food product. Reports all food safety related problems to your manager and to the QA Dept. in order to initiate immediate action.
Requires a basic understanding of GMP's, HACCP and SQF guidelines.
Requires mathematical skills that require the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
Other duties as assigned.
