A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE (LPN)
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you play a vital role in our clinic. Without you, we would not be able to fulfill our purpose! You provide total care for our residents, starting with carefully monitoring their condition and needs. You follow physician orders to administer medications and treatments, ensure the narcotic policies and procedures are followed, monitor for side effects, and report any changes in the condition of residents. You also oversee the nursing assistant-registered (NAR) staff to make sure that resident care plans are being followed.
With a close eye for detail, you complete documentation as well as admit and discharge residents. Pratt Unified School District 382 is a 4A district located in the heart of south central Kansas. Home to almost 7,000 citizens, Pratt is 75 miles west of Wichita and 55 miles southwest of Hutchinson.
Upon the completion of bond construction projects, USD 382 will have the following four main education buildings: Southwest Elementary, a PreK-3 building; Pratt Intermediate Center with grades 4 & 5 and housed at the Pratt Academic Center; Liberty Middle School, a 6-8 building; and Pratt High School, a 9-12 building. The Pratt Academic Center is a fully renovated classic building with the Pratt Intermediate Center, the district`s central office, a childcare center (a benefit for staff), and the historic Frogdome. Current enrollment is approximately 1150 FTE students in grades K-12. The district employs 7 administrators and approximately 79 teachers. USD 382 consistently performs well in academic and non-academic areas as attested by many League, District and State level accomplishments. The district was fully accredited in the previous cycle and continues as a fully accredited school per the KESA system. We are a trauma-informed district and support training to better our practice.
