A rapidly growing technology company based in Laguna Niguel is seeking an Assembly Technician for their Fiber Optic Connectors and Cable Assemblies. The company will train on specific equipment and processes. The scope of this position involves the precision assembly of optical components and terminating fiber optic connectors. Prior work experience in fields requiring delicate and precise handwork (e.g., medical, dental, electronics, jewelry, tailoring, ceramic arts) is very beneficial. There are two shifts: 7AM to 3:30PM & 2:30PM to 11PM (Monday to Friday). This is a temp-to-hire position and the starting pay is $18/hour .

Benefits Include: paid holidays, paid time off (PTO), and medical insurance (partial company payment of employee medical insurance premium and full company payment of employee dental and vision insurance premiums).

Assembler Responsibilities:

  • Preparing the work area
  • Verifying materials received with the work order
  • Measuring, cutting, and stripping the fiber cable
  • Terminating the fiber to the connector with epoxy
  • Heating and curing the connection
  • Crimping, polishing (hand and/or machine)
  • Optical testing
  • Heat shrinking/labeling, and packaging

Assembler Requirements:

  • Minimum Education: high school diploma or GED
  • Read, write and speak English
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, work orders, and written procedures
  • Steady and precise hands, excellent vision, concentration, patience, and hand-eye coordination.
  • Previous fiber optic cable terminations and assemblies experience is desirable but not required

Join the Kelly Professional & Industrial team. We're hiring **Precision** **Assemblers** **at a local Manufacturing Facility in Skokie, IL!**
**Pay:** $19 per hour

**Shift:** 1st shift 6:00am - 2:30pm

2nd shift 2:00pm - 11:00pm

**Primary Responsibilities/Essential Responsibilities:**

• Follow guidance from specified process instructions, blueprints, and verbalized instructions from other team members to perform assembly tasks.

• Work safely and without injury.

• Perform disassembly and cleaning.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

• Utilize hand and power tools, builds sub-assemblies, mounts components and parts to assemblies.

• May rotate into other positions within the team or to another team as required to meet production requirements.

• Understand and perform to all quality regulations, standards and policies, including but not limited to ISO 9001:2015 and AAR M-1003. Follow work procedures and ensure highest level of quality.

• May participate in defining strategies to meet quality objectives and in system reviews within the team.

• Participate in team meetings as required (safety, problem solving, etc.).

• Problem-solves individually or as part of a group as job duties require.

• Responsible for prompt and regular attendance as scheduled and may be required to work overtime
