Job Description
Position Summary:
Responsible for tactical and strategic pricing development in a fast-paced high mix / high volume aerospace manufacturing company. You will utilize existing pricing models, historical pricing data and cost estimating tools. You will perform pricing analysis and present recommendations to sales team. The Estimator will review and process Requests for Quote professionally and accurately, analyze customer requirements, and ensure our ability to meet customer requirements and comply established processes and industry standards
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
* Support Account Managers as primary internal customer
* Develop strategic pricing for major proposal bids using internally developed costs and market data
* Analyze data as required to resolve moderately complex cost and pricing questions
* Review component specifications, including technical drawings, bills of material and manufacturing routings to calculate current costs
* Ensure pricing calculations are aligned with current market conditions to achieve margin targets
* Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal support functions including Engineering, Purchasing and Manufacturing.
* Coordinate with Engineering to review customer drawings and ensure component characteristics and technical requirements conform to our product designs
* Review cost data with Purchasing and Engineering groups to ensure data is correct and appropriate for use in our pricing calculations, as required
* Review and process customer Requests for Quote
* Update and present daily quote metrics to sales team management
* Present quote lines for SOX financial approval, as required
* Follow all departmental procedures, company policies, regulatory requirements and customer specifications with a high degree of fidelity and accuracy
* Perform peer-to-peer quality review of pricing development and Quote creation. Document all quality escapes and corrective actions
* Maintain required performance metrics (win-rate, etc…) to ensure compliance with business objectives and AS9100 standards
* Recommend improvement actions by analyzing and interpreting data along with input from team members and internal process partners
* Work with limited supervision
* Other duties as assigned
Experience & Education
Required Experience:
* Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in business, engineering, mathematics or related field
* At least 3 years of experience pricing and/or quoting in a manufacturing environment in lieu of education requirement
* Must have knowledge, experience and competence in the concepts and standard practices of pricing, quoting and related costing and in a high mix / high volume manufacturing environment
Preferred Experience:
* Experience in the Aerospace industry is strongly preferred
* Experience reading and interpreting manufacturing drawings, specifications and other technical documents is strongly preferred
Required Skills:
* Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail to analyze and solve a variety of moderately complex pricing and cost problems
* Critical thinking skills with the ability to identify market intelligence and or patterns in RFQ data
* Strong bias for action with a curious and investigative nature to understand our markets and pricing at a strategic level
* Advanced Excel skills
* Intermediate skills with MS Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
* Must have extensive experience developing pricing and preparing quotes in an ERP system
* Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
* Must possess exceptional time management skills, be highly organized and have the proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple pricing projects and deliver assignments and daily deliverables on time
* Must be able to work extended hours when required to meet business objectives
* Experience with report writing and presentation preparation is a plus

Eaton's IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Test Engineering Manager. This role is based at our Los Angeles, CA location. This is a Full-Time position working Daylight hours, Monday-Friday. With 300+ employees, the Los Angeles facility designs and manufactures quality valves, regulators, and other fluid controls used mostly by the Aerospace industry.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $125000 - $183000 a year.

**What you'll do:**
This position is responsible for overall leadership and supervision of the Engineering Test Lab (ETL) function. Its primary accountability is for technical and process excellence, but its holder is also measured on personnel leadership, organizational development, and timely results. The position is a part of the engineering leadership team within the Los Angeles site operating unit and performs and leads activities related to testing of hydro-mechanical actuation, flow control (valves), and related products (including electronic control units) and systems. Skills involve managing the testing of new products and on occasion sustaining products, development and coaching of team members, resource planning, providing on-site technical support to product teams in the testing phase, and supporting responses to customer requests for proposals. Development of documented technical standards around best practices and using lessons learned.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:**
- Ensure a safe test environment, test execution, and proactively address safety issues as it relates to test lab personnel and visitors, facilities, equipment, and test setups. Develop and maintain best practices based on other Eaton sites and share best practices with other sites
- Development of improved engineering techniques that add value to our products through weight reduction, more efficient hydraulic circuitry, reliability improvement, etc. Development of documented technical standards around best practices and using lessons learned
- Support bid and proposal efforts as necessary
- Development and implementation of processes and tools for engineering tasks consistent with industry best practices. Monitoring to assure adherence to defined processes
- Manage a team of, technicians, engineers, and/or support personnel to deliver high quality technical output on time. Provide technical advice and guidance to this team. Participate in periodic audits, as they relate to the test lab and NPD programs, such as AS9100 and ACES for Mechanical LRU development and applicable engineering procedures and instructions
- Create opportunities for growth and development for team members. Performance manage and coach high and low performers on the team effectively
- Continuous improvement of resource management, productivity, and first-pass quality. Use of tools including Design for Six Sigma to achieve that end. Budgeting and resource planning
- Author and maintain processes and procedures related to ETL, ensuring adherence to these procedures. Collaborate with other Eaton labs to develop consistent practices, procedures, etc. and actively participate in ACES lab process development.
- Development of organizational capability/capacity and engineering/technical skills among staff to support the site and organization operating unit strategy. Maintenance of appropriate training programs to assure continuous learning.
- Develop and deliver ETL budget, material, and resource planning to both engineering leadership team and site leadership team. Coordinate with other site functional leaders to ensure clear and consistent communication regarding material planning, budget, etc. Identify risks and opportunities in these areas.
- Support and execution of site operating unit engineering initiatives. Participation in site engineering leadership team and in strategic planning.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications:**
**BASIC (Required) QUALIFICATIONS:**
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
- 5+ years of engineering experience in an Aerospace product development environment
- 1+ year of experience in aerospace hydraulic component design, test, and troubleshooting

Position Summary:
Coordinates and directs the design, planning, construction, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, and other facilities by performing the following duties personally or through departmental engineers or supervisors.
