Fire Sprinkler Fitters are pipefitting specialists in the fire protection industry and Western States Fire Protection is seeking qualified applicants for this position.
Job Responsibilities
Learn to install, repair and maintain all types of fixed extinguishing systems, including underground piping
Responsible for installing and servicing a variety of other fire protection equipment such as Standpipes, Wet Pipe systems, Dry Pipe systems, Pre-Action systems, and Foam systems.
Travel within the state and willing to work on various locations/job sites; as necessary

Responsibilities:
Prepare accurate quantity surveys and estimates for those divisions of the project as assigned
Complete assignments in agreed upon time frame
Solicit subcontractor and/or supplier quotations or scheduling input as required for the assignments
Participate in plan review and estimate reviews for respective projects
Assist in compiling historical cost data for projects
Confirm list of subcontractors/suppliers proposing on the project

Lead Estimator Designation:
When the Estimator II is designated as the Lead Estimator on an estimate, the following additional responsibilities will be required:
Supervise and line out all people on the bid team, provide adequate information to team members and establish bidding schedule with deadlines.
Assure successful kick off meetings, mid-bid reviews, and final reviews. Get the Regional VP of Operations involved if they are available.
Review and understand owner provided specifications and documentation for all portions of the work and ensure the needed costs have been incorporated into the estimate.
Perform final reviews at least two (2) days before bid due date.
Review all work performed by team members.
Critically analyze each aspect of the estimate to ensure a competitive bid. Apply appropriate labor rates and methods of construction based on provided information and expected site conditions. Explore options which could shorten the construction schedules and minimize indirects and construction equipment. Recognize risks and apply contingency and escalation
when appropriate. Know when and how to capitalize on opportunities.
Qualifications:

Associates degree in Architectural Drafting & Estimating.
Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering or equivalent experience preferred.
Minimum of two years of estimating experience is required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Be knowledgeable of MIC Health and Safety programs and project specific regulations.
When on-site, actively participate in daily toolbox meetings with crews and subcontractors.

The position is responsible for implementing all policies and procedures that comprise the Accident Prevention Plan (APP) including, but not limited to, evaluation and control of safety and health hazards in the workplace, routine hazard recognition and environmental management, inspection and maintain vehicles and construction equipment and training of field personnel in safety standards and proper use of construction equipment. The project safety program must be 100% compliant with USACE EM-385. The position will work with managers, supervisors, and employees to minimize occupational health and safety risks, environmental exposures, teach specific safe work habits, and manage compliance with applicable regulations.
Top Five Responsibilities
Provide technical and regulatory expertise to ensure compliance, safe work places, and continuous improvement of APP. Ensure complete compliance with EM-385, latest version.
Assists in the development of Safety plans during pre-construction phase and throughout construction.
Identify, develop, and implement programs to train supervision and employees in required safety practices, fire prevention, correct handling techniques for chemicals, toxins, equipment, tools and other materials, and other project specific safety applications
Ensure contractor activities are preplanned for safety through scope review, preconstruction meetings, AHA review, etc.
Provide strategic direction to site and company leadership regarding project safety.

Assists the Project Manager, Superintendent, and Quality Control Manager on jobsites with adherence to company safety and loss control policies

Perform daily safety audits and PPE assessments
Lead the investigation of construction related incidents and accidents, work closely with Project PM and Superintendent
Support field monitoring of employee exposures to job and chemical hazards.
Oversee subcontractors in the field to ensure they are following OSHA and EM385 protocols
Monitor worksite and notify appropriate parties when safety policies are not met by employees
Monitors and coordinates employee safety and environmental training programs and works with managers to ensure training is completed.

Complete and maintain routine safety logs and reports and submit in a timely manner

The Contract Administrator will generally audit new proposals, make changes to existing proposals, and develop contracts. The job also involves keeping a database of outgoing proposals, deadlines, and submittals, so computer skills will certainly be utilized in this position. The contracts administrator should also renew items before they lapse and write bid packages in accordance with laws and regulations; this is usually done with the help of a lawyer. * Work with the VP Global Sustainability to help meet the Corporation's sustainability reporting requirements (e.g. sustainability pages on the Quanex website).
* Engage employees to inspire action to reduce the use of energy, water and generation of waste across the Divisions in support of the Corporation's sustainability strategy.
* Facilitate multi-site sustainability compliance activities related to packaging and materials reporting obligations such as Extended Producer Responsibility regulations in North America.
* Bring fresh thinking, creativity and drive to make things happen by reducing scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon emissions, water and waste to landfill, eliminate priority hazardous substances, transition to more sustainable forms of packaging and facilitating the development of more sustainable products and services.
* Work collaboratively with other divisions and plants operating internationally by developing common approaches, sharing data, knowledge and best practices.
* Maintains own skills, knowledge and competency through continuing professional development.

Your Credentials:
* Degree level education is preferred (e.g. sustainability, engineering, technical or another relevant subject).
* Professional membership of a recognized environmental and/or sustainability body desirable (or be working towards).
* 10+ years of professional work experience. Would suit an individual with sustainability experience in a consulting, manufacturing or construction environment.
* Knowledge of environmental and sustainability regulations, including Extended Producer Responsibility requirements and corporate sustainability reporting.
* Successful track record of problem solving, idea generation, and project execution.
The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $149,000 with bonus potential.

The New Tank Field Welder should expect to learn a broad overview of water tower welding, fabrication and erection. This position will work on new water tank construction sites performing various jobs such as grinding welds, moving material, general job site clean-up and assisting welders with re-positioning.
Position Duties
Comprehends and ensures welding procedures are followed and performed per specifications.
Keep work area organized and clean to insure a safe environment.
Examines work piece for defects to ensure conformance with specifications and records data as required.
Corrects malformation in parts and bends in metal work pieces.
Ability to use cutting and welding equipment.
