This position is an essential part of Sherwin's manufacturing team. This position is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production and facility equipment to support production requirements and goals. Equipment may include: dryers, chillers, thermal oxidizer, HVAC, fire pump, mixers, mills, filling line equipment, conveyors, wrappers, tanks, motors, pumps, tank washers, tank tipper, as well as dock and building maintenance, etc. This position performs various maintenance tasks as assigned and is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and productive working environment. Performance Health is looking for a 1st Shift Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our production team in Akron, OH. The Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and machinery in a manufacturing or industrial setting. The technician ensures all electrical components and systems operate efficiently and comply with safety regulations and company standards. This onsite position will be working 1st shift daytime hours, Monday through Friday. Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities * Perform routine maintenance and inspections on electrical systems, control panels, and industrial equipment. * Diagnose and repair electrical faults in machinery and equipment. * Install, test, and commission new electrical systems and components. * Maintain and update electrical schematics, blueprints, and documentation. * Work with PLCs, VFDs, motors, relays, and other control systems. * Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety regulations, and company procedures. * Collaborate with engineers and other maintenance staff to improve equipment reliability. * Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergencies to minimize downtime. * Monitor and record maintenance activities using CMMS * Performs other duties as assigned. Job Qualifications * Diploma or Technical Certificate in Electrical Engineering or related field. * Proven experience as an Electrical Technician, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment. * Strong knowledge of electrical systems, schematics, and troubleshooting techniques. * Familiarity with PLCs (Siemens, Allen Bradley, etc.), VFDs, and industrial automation. * Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and blueprints. * Good understanding of safety practices and electrical codes (e.g., NEC, IEC). * Basic mechanical skills are a plus. * Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader, this positions primary responsibility will be to shadow a technician who is maintaining and repairing the production equipment. Mentee will also attend school earning a certificate for either Industrial Electrical or Programmable Controller. The Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining both mechanical and electrical production-related equipment; and performing preventative maintenance as scheduled to minimize and eliminate unplanned machine down time. MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (not all inclusive): · Ensure correct and safe operation of equipment and machinery, being able to utilize a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). · Troubleshoot and maintain mechanical drive systems, conveyors, Forge Presses, Trim Presses, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, process water systems and other equipment as assigned. · Identify faulty equipment through observation and testing. · Gather parts and perform repairs. · Work with Maintenance Manager to continually update the maintenance process(es) and system(s). · Attend daily shift meetings to prioritize work orders and minimize downtime. · Safely operate cranes, power tools, hoists and hand tools. · Assess the condition of used, worn, faulty parts using micrometers, calipers and specifications. · Maintain parts and tools inventory through parts consumption via work orders. · Enter job/work information into CMMS on a routine basis · Have a general understanding of electrical systems including 480VAC 3Ø, 120VAC and 24VDC, being able to safely work around these systems as you perform maintenance functions. · Maintain electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics and mechanical knowledge via on-going training, industry workshops and technical reading. · Able to adhere to safety and performance standards. QUALIFICATIONS: · Minimum of 10 years industrial maintenance or heavy equipment experience required · Advanced understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanics · Basic understanding of electrical systems · Comfortable with computers · Capable of operating hand, power and specialized tools · Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) preferred · Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. · Able to work off shifts and weekends, as assigned. · Team player and willing to work with minimal supervision · Excellent problem-solving and communication skills · Minimum high school diploma or GED · Advanced technical or college training preferred · Military Experience a plus (Engine, Aircraft, and Heavy Equipment Maintenance) · Experience with Predictive Maintenance, such as Thermography, Vibration Analysis, Ultrasound, Tribology (Oil Analysis). · CMRT, CRL Certification a plus Salary:$30.00 - $40.00 / Hour Salary Description 32.00 - 37.00

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of plumbing, construction, and electrical work, and may also work on exterior maintenance tasks such as painting, window replacement, and A/C condenser repairs.
