Job Description Precision Resource is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer for its Vernon Hills, IL facility. Ideal candidates will be certified or degreed with at least three years' experience in a manufacturing/stamping/automotive environment with ISO/TS 16949. Essential Duties / Responsibilities · Will be the Quality Representative to Customer Responsibility as delegated by the Quality Manager. · Develop a business relationship with customers to best understand their needs and our capabilities in the application of their products · Assist is quality related issues and resolutions of problems · Generate, update and maintain documentation relating to quality, reliability and process (PSO documentation). · Participate in safety and OSHA training. · Keep work area clean and tidy at all times. · Work in an organized manner with attention to details. Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) · Establish customer specific and/or AIAG requirements · Develop supplier specific requirements · Manage entire PPAP process, monitor timing schedules and communicate regular updates. Quality Auditing · Conducting internal audits Layered Process Audits (LPA's) and follow-up audit and corrective action · Complete Quality audits of supplier on-site, and follow-up audit and corrective action. Advanced Production Quality Planning (APQP) · Participate in pre-production activities (APQP) as quality representative when required with Project Management Problem Solving · Be efficient in determining root cause of non-conformance in correction and prevention of on-going issues, preparation of 8D disciplined reports · Conduct / Attend as actively participate in corrective actions reviews to implement changes to correct and prevent non-conformances Statistical · Review statistical data on specific product for improvement or potential corrective action Continual Improvement · Demonstrate initiative to improve productivity, profitability, efficiency and safety in processes · Implement prevention/detection systems to eliminate problems that affect quality and its process efficiency (continuous improvement). Qualifications Certified Quality Engineer preferred. Associates 2 year degree in Quality Engineering preferred. 3+ years experience in quality and/or manufacturing engineering in a manufacturing/automotive setting preferred. Knowledge of quality engineering disciplines and improvement tools, such as: root cause analysis, corrective action, standard improvement processes, statistical methods, lean manufacturing, etc. Knowledge of, and experience with formal documentation systems and methods, particularly ISO/TS-16949 Completion of ISO/TS Internal Auditor training preferred.
