The material packer inspects for quality, keeps accurate counts and paperwork, and stacks the product into boxes on the skid. Performs assigned essential tasks to assist line operator in maintaining accurate counts, and to maintain a clean & safe work environment. Basic operations of the converting line are learned in this position. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Must be able to read and understand Job description and work instructions. * Must complete and comprehend EverTec Material Packing Quality Assurance training program. * Effectively performs visual quality inspections as required by EverTec Quality Assurance program. * Understands and can implement Quality Assurance program required escalation process when non-conforming product has been identified. * Make certain product is being packaged according to customer requirements. Including correct boxes being used, correct amount in box, all information on labels is correct. * Must know procedures to assure accuracy of good product counts and waste counts, maintain accurate and complete records as required. * Ensure efficient packing process as identified by supervision and management is adhered to as a Standard Operating Procedure. * Must be able to work all four stations of the Packer role as well as conducting rework and non-standard work assignments, to include, but not limited to: * Pallet Stacker Station:Assembling cardboard lids, conducting quality checks, removing full boxes of mailers off the skate table, and stacking them on a finished good pallet. * Box Making Station:Constructing cardboard boxes and general housekeeping. * Mailer Packer Station:Packing the mailers into the constructed box on the conveyor belt and conducting active quality checks. * Utility Packer Station:Assisting other roles in their duties and any additional requirements per the scheduled job, conducting quality checks, assisting in quality containment activities, monitoring finished good time stamp, and housekeeping. * Rework and nonstandard work assignments:General Housekeeping, reworking material that is out of customer specification, and other non-standard work after being properly trained. Assist line operators in wash ups, makereadies and startups as required.General cleaning of area workspaces and floors ensuring area is always clean.Follows all required safety procedures. Performing job in a manner that protects the health and safety of all employees.Learns and adheres to safety rules and procedures. Job Location Aurora, IL Job Summary The Quality Assurance Manager reports to the Director of Operations and will oversee all activities related to Quality Control and Quality Assurance. The QA Manager will execute key projects related to process improvement based on data collected from Quality Control and feedback from Field Service and Customers. Required Education, Experience and Qualifications * Minimum of 10+ years of experience in people, process, and product management * BS Mechanical, Process Engineering, or Quality Engineering or similar relevant degree/experience preferred * Lean Six Sigma Black Belt a plus * Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS) * Demonstrated success in leading ISO 9001 certification efforts and sustaining ongoing compliance in a manufacturing environment * Demonstrated ability to create, implement, and maintain new processes across multiple departments * Demonstrated success in managing projects in cross-functional teams * Strong attention to detail is critical * Ability to multi-task with strong analytical, troubleshooting, and mechanical skills. * Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills * Works successfully independently and collaboratively across teams * Excellent data and computer skills * Ability to travel up to 25%. Made Possible.** Graphic Packaging International has an immediate need for a HRBP, Sr. Manager supporting the Shelbyville, IL location. Located in central Illinois, the Shelbyville plant is the flagship facility of the Foodservice division and the largest plant in GPI! This position has overall responsibilities for developing, promoting and implementing innovative HR solutions to meet business needs and increasing organizational efficiency. This person in this role is also responsible for providing direction and assistance regarding employment, salary administration, payroll, benefits, performance management, labor relations, employee relations, employment law and workforce planning. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following job functions: **Employee Relations/Labor Relations:** + Drive GPI's employment culture through effective Employee Engagement planning and execution. + Provides advice and counsel to hourly and salary employees to maintain a positive, productive employment environment free of discrimination and inconsistencies. Monitor and provide feedback regarding policies, procedures and programs and propose improvements as necessary. Serve as liaison for voicing employee concerns. + Facilitate grievance process for the facility, up through the arbitration process. Support contract negotiations and bargaining of agreements as necessary. + Coaches employees, supervisors and colleagues assisting them in problem resolution and to improve performance. Coach, advise and recommend corrective actions. + Serve as liaison between Corporate HR and plant for escalation issues. + Support line leaders to improve skills and effectiveness and to create an environment where each employee can fully contribute. + Conduct annual training on Safety/Environmental, Code of Business Ethics, Anti-Harassment, Anti-Discrimination, and other related HR Policies. + Draft responses to hotline complaints, NLRB charges and EEOC charges filed by employees. + Act as change agent to implement strategies that drive culture changes in a complex environment. + Coach plant leaders on best practices affecting employee morale and engagement. + Identify and address issues arising that require training and direction to the plant senior leadership team. **Staffing and Recruitment:** + Facilitate labor strategy planning in collaboration with business partners. + Manages the process for temporary staff utilized in the plant. Acts as the company liaison with the staffing agencies. If adjustments do not solve the defect, communicate with the Lead Operator. * Remove excess damaged paper stock from the machine tops and clears bottom paper stock from scrap tube. * Empty spoilage boxes from both side wall stock and bottom stock continuously during the shift. * Assist Lead Operators in servicing the machine with glue, mineral oil or silicone required for proper operation. * Assist Lead Operator with quality checks on product: fiber teardown, print, scuffs, and proper date code * Move, place, and thread bottom stock and safely secure to finisher with minimum waste * Record mineral oil usage for machines you are responsible for (total used per shift) * Complete a machine operator finishing rounds checklist prior to the end of the shift * Notify Shift Supervisor or Group Leader of problems that arise beyond the scope of Cup Operator's duties. * Maintain 5S in assigned area. Maintain work system tools. * Actively participate in daily team production meetings and communicate key items within the plant environment on safety, quality, maintenance, production and continuous improvement. * Perform basic preventative maintenance tasks, i.e. basic cleaning of machine, etc. * Ensure that all equipment meets safety standards and is checked routinely throughout the shift * Once qualified, instruct and train others. * Manage workload as necessary to ensure production requirements are met. * Communicate effectively with oncoming shift. * Fulfill overtime requirements necessary to ensure production requirements are met. * Assist in other areas or perform other duties, as assigned. SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS * Basic mechanical background and skill to perform technical tasks; Able to use hand tools properly and safely. * Able to work in a fast-paced, multi-task environment: Demonstrated organizational skills and detail orientation. * Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision: Ability to follow verbal or written instructions. * Ability to perform the essential physical functions of the position, with or without accommodation. JOB SUMMARY: The person who occupies this position is responsible for assuming all duties performed by feeder (feed flat cartons into gluing/paneling machines), catcher (remove product from press and pack into cases) and sorter (quality checks on cartons). This person rotates between these positions throughout working shift. They understand and align business operations and Finishing Department as he/she executes their role to exceed customer expectations and align with GPI business, cultural, financial and operational objectives. JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following. The following is a list of specific duties which are considered the essential functions of this job. The list is not exhaustive, as all positions at the Company are dynamic. The employee who occupies this position is expected to assume any/all duties assigned by management irrespective of whether such duties are specifically included in this list. Feeder: Feeder has responsibility that glue machinery is continually being fed with proper carton. Feeder takes stacks of cartons from loaded pallet and places them into feeder of machine. Responsibility that appropriate carton is being fed. Done by checking for variances in box number and collator marks. Responsibility to feed only quality cartons. Feeder is to fan through stacks of cartons being fed and check that they have proper color, register and are void of unnecessary markings. Feeder is to observe for machine malfunctions and stop glue machine when problems arise. Feeder uses mirror to detect malfunctions. Feeder is also to be aware of signals from operator or catcher to stop and start machine. Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of area (remove stray cartons, sweep up, etc...). Performed during make ready. Catcher: Removes the finished folded cartons from the press and packs them into cases. Responsibility that appropriate carton is being packed: Done by checking item and job number on carton with job label being used. Responsibility that only quality products are packed. Catcher is to check that cartons have proper color, register and are void of unnecessary markings. Responsibility that proper count of cartons are packed into case. Catcher is to hand count the first case of each different product being packed. Packed cartons are to be pushed on rollers through taping machine Responsible for maintenance of area.
