Learning Facilitator, Change Agent, Mentor, Leader, Champion for Inquiry, Partner for Practice Transitions, and
Advocate for NPD specialty. In addition, the individual may provide direct patient care in accordance with the clinicalnurse role.
Responsibilities of this individual include Onboarding/Orientation, Competency Management, Education, Role
Development, Collaborative Partnerships, & Inquiry.
The primary outputs of the NPD practice include learning, change, and professional role competence and growth.
Through collaboration with key stakeholders across the organization and ongoing environment scanning practices,
the Professional Development RN (Practitioner) (NPDP) - Care Site is accountable for compliance with the OhioNurse Practice Act, applicable regulatory standards, ANPD scope and standards, institutional policies, procedures
and supporting the organization in strategic outcome attainment established from strategic plans.

Position Summary
General Summary/Responsibilities:
A registerednurse / polysomnographic technologist role is to provide a wide range of neurologic studies to allow physicians to diagnose and treat a variety of neurologic and sleep related conditions, and to support the physician through thorough assessment and care planning for the sleep disordered patient. The RN works under the general supervision of the medical director, and direct supervision of the clinical lab manager, and sleep center director to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders including in center and home sleep apnea testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care and direct patient education. If not registered as a polysomnographic technologist, the RN may act as a trainee in this level for 12-months and is required to continue their education by asking questions, doing independent study for sleep medicine and starting the A-STEP modules.

The RN functions in a versatile role that demonstrates professionalism and promotes excellence and autonomy in the practice of Nursing. The RN utilizes the nursing process in conjunction with evidence-based principles to care for a diverse caseload of patients within the department scope of service. The RN serves as guide, healer, collaborator, teacher, leader and sentry. The RN collaborates with and guides care delivered by the inter-professional team. The RN is accountable for compliance with the OhioNurse Practice Act, Nursing Code of Ethics and applicable regulatory standards.

Valid Registration by the BRPT (Board of Registered Polysomnography Technologists) or Sleep Disorder Specialist (SDS)
RN must complete A-step program for polysomnography within 12 months of hire if hired as a trainee in lieu of this requirement and receive their registration as a polysomnographic technician within 18 months of hire. RN will be required to maintain current RN licensure in this job code.
