The clinical nurse (CN) functions in a multi-faceted role that demonstrates professionalism and promotes excellence in the practice of Nursing. The CN is responsible for maintaining high standards for a caseload of patients as described by the scope of care for the area of practice and demonstrates appropriate actions based on sound scientific research and evidence-based principles. The CN also coordinates/directs care delivered by the interdisciplinary team. Responsibilities include triaging patients, responding to emergencies, administering medications, and collaborating with the healthcare team to stabilize and treat critically ill or injured patients. This is a 12-hour shift role with rotating weekends, holidays, and call requirements. Candidates may be asked to float within the facility based on department needs.
