North and South 8 have telemetry capabilities for our patients. Kelemen 8 has frequent admissions and discharges. Kelemen 8 can accept a total of 77 patients. The North side houses 37 patients, and the South side houses 36 patients. There are two negative pressure rooms with an anti-room. There is a pharmacist present on the unit to assist the RNs with medication questions/concerns. Multidisciplinary rounds occur every Monday through Friday. Rounds involve all aspects of the healthcare team, including the patient and family. Experience Required 0-2 years' experience required. Education Requirements High School/GED required. License/Certification Requirements * AHA Basic Life Support certification required. * Successful completion of an unlicensed health care provider/ technician program required. * Completed at least one fundamental nursing course in an accredited Nursing Program required. * 1 year or more patient care experience in a similar role required. To support our staff are Clinical Nurse Managers (CNMs) which help with patient care, through put, and assignments. Nurses who are staffed on Kelemen 9 are required to have Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications, which will allow competent and safe care for our complex patient populations. Experience Required 0-2 years' experience required. Education Requirements High School/GED required. License/Certification Requirements * AHA Basic Life Support certification required. * At least one of the below qualifications/certifications must be met for hire. * * Successful completion of an unlicensed health care provider/ technician program * Completed at least one fundamental nursing course in an accredited Nursing Program * 1 year or more patient care experience in a similar role. North and South 8 have telemetry capabilities for our patients. Kelemen 8 has frequent admissions and discharges. Kelemen 8 can accept a total of 77 patients. The North side houses 37 patients, and the South side houses 36 patients. There are two negative pressure rooms with an anti-room. There is a pharmacist present on the unit to assist the RNs with medication questions/concerns. Multidisciplinary rounds occur every Monday through Friday. Rounds involve all aspects of the healthcare team, including the patient and family. Experience Required 0-2 years' experience required. Education Requirements High School/GED required. License/Certification Requirements * AHA Basic Life Support certification required. * Successful completion of an unlicensed health care provider/ technician program required. * Completed at least one fundamental nursing course in an accredited Nursing Program required. * 1 year or more patient care experience in a similar role required. ER Tech/ HUC Department: Emergency Department Shift: Full-time/ 11AM-11:30PM/ 36 hours per week/ 72 hours per pay period Facility: Miami Valley North Hospital The ER Tech/Health Unit Coordinator (ER Tech/HUC) role combines the essential roles of the ER Tech and HUC into one role that will function based upon operational needs. The ER Tech is a multi-skilled individual able to perform technical and clinical tasks/procedures under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and delegated in accordance with the Ohio Board of Nursing. Identities abnormal findings based on established standards and guidelines and reports those findings to the Registered Nurse. The HUC is pivotal in the overall function of the unit including coordinating communication, data entry and stocking/ordering of supplies. Provides clerical assistance to physicians and staff. Provides direction and guidance to patients, families and visitors while promoting a positive patient experience. Tasks are performed under the oversight of the RN in coordination with other team members. Education Minimum Level of Education Required: High School completion / GED Licensure/Certification/Registration * Current HealthCare Provider or Professional rescuer BLS CPR certifications required prior to completion of orientation Successful completion of one of the following: 1.Completion of previous STNA or CNA training or Patient Care Technician/Assistant training. 2.Direct patient care experience within the last five years: Performing fundamental skills of vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) & direct patient care activities ie. Bathing, turning/positioning, toileting 3.Currently enrolled in nursing school and completion of at least one clinical rotation. 4.EMT Basic Special Consideration: If the candidate has previous direct patient care experience, they may be excused from fundamental training (BCOP) upon completion of successful skills validation. This is in lieu of the above requirements.
