Position Responsibilities: Food Preparation: Prepare and cook ingredients according to recipes and specifications, ensuring consistency and quality. Assist in the creation and presentation of menu items, including appetizers, entrees, and bar snacks. Perform mise en place, including chopping, slicing, and organizing ingredients for efficient cooking. Handle and store food products properly to maintain freshness and prevent cross-contamination. Food Safety and Hygiene: Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper hand washing, glove use, and preventing cross-contamination. Monitor and maintain proper food storage temperatures and practices. Regularly clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces. Dispose of waste and expired food items in accordance with health and safety regulations. Cleaning and Maintenance: Keep the kitchen and surrounding areas clean and organized throughout the shift. Perform routine cleaning tasks, such as washing dishes, cleaning floors, and taking out trash. Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and appliances, ensuring they are in good working condition. Report any maintenance or repair issues to the Kitchen Manager. Bartender Support: Assist bartenders with food prep and restocking bar snacks or garnishes as needed. Support the bar team during busy periods by preparing quick bites or platters for service. Communicate effectively with bartenders to ensure timely and accurate service of food orders. Stocking and Inventory Management: Assist in receiving and checking deliveries for accuracy and quality. Stock and organize kitchen supplies and ingredients to ensure availability and minimize waste. Monitor inventory levels and inform the Kitchen Manager of any shortages or needs for reorder. Qualifications: Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment preferred. Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team. Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy items, and perform manual tasks. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
