Practice Highlights: 1848 annual hours per year 10-12 hour shift length 10-14 patients per day Inpatient call while on service, no night call APP support Responsibilities Summary: Cares for patients hospitalized for neurologic conditions with an emphasis on stroke including clinical decision making for thrombolysis, thrombectomy and ICU care. Responsibilities: *Works as a neurohospitalist/stroke neurologist in rotation with other members of the neurohospitalist/ stroke neurology team across the spectrum of care from ED to ICU to floor care to hospital discharge *Collaborates with other specialties in the multidisciplinary care of neurology/stroke patients *Participates in development and maintenance of clinical pathways in coordination with other specialties to provide highly reliable, high-quality care for stroke patients in alignment with certifying bodies requirements *Participates in quality improvement work in stroke and neurology by determining key performance indicators, process metrics and outcomes measures *Provides stroke-specific review of cases referred to the medical staffs peer review committee on an ad hoc basis *Participates in recruitment and retention of physicians and APCs on the neuroscience team (neurology, neurohospitalist, neurosurgery, neurointervention) Credentials Required: M.D./D.O. with residency training in an approved ACGME Neurology program.
