This role supports the healthy development of young children by planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum in a nurturing, safe, and inclusive environment. As the Lead Preschool Teacher, you will create meaningful learning experiences to foster children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth while maintaining strong partnerships with families and upholding VHFLC's commitment to equity, respect, and high-quality care. Responsibilities Plan and implement a play-based, developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with Oregon's Early Learning and VHFLC's philosophy. Supervise and engage preschool-aged children in activities that promote exploration, discovery, creativity, and problem-solving. Establish and maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming classroom environment that supports children's autonomy and cooperation. Foster positive relationships with children and families, greeting each child and caregiver warmly and professionally each day. Utilize positive guidance techniques consistent with VHFLC's policies to promote self-regulation and conflict resolution. Ensure health and safety practices are followed, including meal/snack routines, toileting, and maintaining a clean classroom.     Job Title Research Methods (PSY 215) Teachers Assistant Department Psychological Sciences Terms and Hours Approx. 2 hrs/wk Job Category Student Employment Hourly Wage Portland Metro Minimum Wage ($16.30/hour) Job Summary The Student Teaching Assistant will be responsible for collecting, grading, and organizing homework assignments in an efficient manner. Each week, approximately 2 assignments will need to be graded and scores organized in an Excel spreadsheet. These papers will then be returned to the professor before the next class period. On occasion, the Teaching Assistant will help students with SPSS.
