The teacher aide must obtain the Educational Aide certification within six (6) months of employment. The recommendation for the level of certification obtained (I/II/III) will be based on the applicant's education and experience. If the applicant obtains a level II or III certification, he/she will be appropriately reclassified.
Teacher Aide II:
High School diploma or equivalent. Have two (3) creditable years of experience as an Educational Aide I; or have a minimum of 15 semester hours of college credit with some emphasis on child growth and development or related subject areas; or have demonstrated proficiency in a specialized skill area as determined by the local school district, and have experience working with students or parents as approved by the employing superintendent.
