The EL ToR creates a flexible program and learning environment that provides specialized instruction for students around building English language proficiency when assisted with supplemental aids, accommodations, and other needed supports. The EL ToR role may vary across local contexts, IDOE has defined minimum expected responsibilities for the EL ToR to assist local education agencies as they ensure compliance with federal requirements. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: * Complete daily AM and PM bus routes to transport children (CDL training provided and pay increases after completed) * Engage and challenge children through a variety of learning experiences. * Collaborate with Lead Teacher to develop and implement goals and objectives. * Provide input to planning and implementing activities. * Use children interests to drive the curriculum. * Use Active Supervision to establish a safe and healthy environment to support the development of each child. * Implement effective classroom management strategies. * Participate in assessing children to show measurable progress in all developmental domains. * Assist in administering the appropriate developmental screen(s). * Keep timely documentation and record keeping as required by all applicable regulations. * Participate in 2 home visits (with Lead Teacher) and 2 family teacher conferences per school year. * Utilizes agency software to input data and generate reports used for tracking and follow-up. * Collaborate with all departments to maximize resources QUALIFICATIONS (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES): * Be at least 21 years of age or older (required for the school bus endorsement of the CDL) * High School diploma or GED required, CDA or Associate's degree preferred * Previous childcare or early childhood education experience required * Must have a valid Driver's License * CDA must be obtained within two years of employment (Agency pays for classes and testing and pay increases upon completion) * Have a valid CDL or willing to obtain one within 90 working days of employment and maintain Department of Transportation legal status requirements to transport children.
