JOB TITLE: Lead Teacher REPORTS TO: CDC Director FLSA TYPE: Full-time, non-exempt JOB PURPOSE: Under the direction of the CDC Director, the Lead Teacher is responsible for meeting the developmental needs of children birth through six years of age in a group setting. Directs classroom teachers, assistant teacher, practicum students, and volunteers to meet program standards as well as Tulsa/County Health Department and the Federal School Lunch licensing regulations. Childcare has special demands in that we care for children that in many instances cannot care for themselves. Reinforce daily to parent and child the successes and positive behaviors exhibited. Communicate all concerns and provide written documentation of all concerns to Director. Facilitate all classroom activities, participate, model, and observe as necessary. Manage all classroom supplies and equipment in a safe and organized manner. Maintain the classroom environment to support smooth transitions and independent learning of children. Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures regarding the prevention of abuse. Report any suspected abuse, neglect, or misconduct immediately to the appropriate supervisory staff. Attend mandatory training on abuse prevention, including recognizing signs of abuse, and reporting requirements. Other duties as assigned.
