ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: * The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses, in the area of elementary education, but may include instruction in secondary education or master of special education courses. * Provide effective individual, small group, or whole class instruction, using a variety of techniques, as appropriate for assignment and instructional mode; * Develop appropriate course materials, such as assignments, activities, and assessments to meet course objectives and program standards * Prepare syllabus and paperwork in accordance with department standards and campus requirements; * Evaluate student work, assign grades, and maintain grading records * Develop an online learning platform via Blackboard that meets university standards for each course to meet the needs of our students * Be willing to participate in the online teacher training platform, ACUE * The position must maintain current instructional certifications appropriate to the field or discipline. * Assist in mentoring of students. * Participate in curriculum development and review. * Serve on committees for professional associations. * Mentor students engaged in applied research projects. * Although this is primarily a teaching position, the candidate may develop research proposals, conduct some research, analyze research results, and publish results in the area of Education. * Other related duties/responsibilities as assigned by the Chair or Dean OTHER DUTIES: * The position will conduct other duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS: A Doctoral (EdD or Ph.D.), degree is preferred but will consider a Master's, in Elementary or Secondary Education, or a similar field. The successful candidate must have a graduate degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education, with a strong background in elementary or secondary education, with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in this area. Current inappropriate certifications and/or equivalent in the field of instruction. Day Care Head Teacher REPORTS TO: Early Childhood Coordinator BASIC FUNCTION: The Day Care Head Teacher directs the daily operation of the preschool classroom and organizes and implements appropriate developmental activities for preschool children including those with disabilities.
