Job Description The Teacher is responsible for developing and managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. Teachers must understand children's cognitive, social, emotional and physical development in order to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. The Teacher must be skilled in communicating with both children and adults in order to meet the needs of the children, effectively guide teacher assistants, and resolve parental concerns.
Duties
Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards
Lead by example; encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching.
Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive and emotional growth.
Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
Ensure a healthy classroom environment - including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.
Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure they are following planned activities, hygiene and safety standards.
Maintain accurate records, forms and files.
Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Requirements
Professional child care experience.
Oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
A working understanding of child development.
Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
Must clear full background check and screening.
A CCP or CDA credential, an associate's degree in early childhood education or related field with a minimum of 12 Credits in ECE preferred.
Requirements include the ability to take frequently move, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl.
A specific vision ability will be required including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision and depth perception.

Job Description Teacher Investment Progam EligibleThe Assistant Teacher provides daily care to children in a Head Start / Early Head Start (HS/EHS) classroom using appropriate child guidance techniques and building responsive relationships with classroom teachers, staff, children and families. The Assistant Teacher assists co-teacher in maintaining a safe, clean, and healthy work environment. The Assistant Teacher ensures that all regulations and mandates for federal, state, and local licensing are met and works with co- teachers and family members to achieve positive outcomes for children of all abilities.

Duties
Support and individualize the physical, social-emotional, and cognitive development of each child in the classroom.
Demonstrate capacity for providing developmentally sensitive, evidence based, hope centered and trauma informed services and leadership.
Perform the functions of this position with a strong understanding of the Head Start Performance Standards.
Ensure compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards, federal and state regulation, and DHS Child Care Licensing requirements.
Work with co-teacher to maintain a safe, clean, and healthy learning environment, and assure the wellbeing and safety of children in their care.
Observe children to detect signs of illness, injury, emotional disturbances, learning disorders, speech problems, or other special needs and reports those signs immediately to supervisor for required or necessary follow-up.
Work with supervisor to ensure child-staff ratio is maintained at all times.
Encourage and model language expansion, extended learning, and problem solving strategies throughout the day.
Conduct home visits and parent-teacher conferences in accordance with Head Start Program Performance standards to share each child's progress with parents.
Work cooperatively with other staff assigned to classroom as a team to involve all parents with the children and to encourage the active participation of all parents in the program.
Participate in ongoing professional development through education, role modeling, mentoring, training and resources.
Ensure implementation of HS/EHS written curriculum plan.
Maintain record keeping and reporting systems to ensure accurate information, with timely completion and follow-up.
Work in a team setting with all staff to determine individual needs of children including children with disabilities or special needs.
Assure that files are complete, accurate, and confidentially maintained.
Participate in and attend all staff meetings, trainings, and certification courses as required.
Travel locally as required in the performance of responsibilities.
Perform other appropriate and related responsibilities as assigned by supervisor or member of Executive Team.
Requirements
Education:
Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or Early Childhood Special Education (transcripts required)

Oklahoma Certificate of Mastery in Early Childhood

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently communicate with staff and others, and must be able to exchange accurate information when doing so. Monitor students during dismissal
Let the teacher guide and teach the class, contributing thoughts to concepts when asked by the teacher to do so
Assist children as they are presenting items to others (example: recitation times, story sharing, show and tell)

Position Description - part-time, hourly, non-exempt, administrative, and at-will
Scope of Position
Provide loving care to Crossing Community Church MDO Program children (0-4 years) to lay a firm foundation of faith in the lives of the babies and toddlers. In a very real sense you, along with their parents, are their first picture of God and His love for them.
Organizational Relationship
This position reports to the MDO & Nursery Coordinator.

Responsibilities
Arrive 30 minutes before event begins to set up and clean up the classroom
Establish a relationship with the child and their parents, creating a warm, welcoming, and safe environment
Check for diaper change needs, and be aware of signs of discomfort[4]
Provide loving care and instruction to meet the physical, spiritual, emotional, and learning needs throughout the dat.
Comply with security check-in and out procedures as outlined in training manual
Interact with children through age appropriate toys, books, music, etc.
Attend mandatory training meeting (annually)
Perform other duties as assigned by the MDO & Nursery Coordinator.
Work Schedule Tuesdays and Thursdays: 8:30 a.m. - 2:45 p.m.
Physical Requirements
Able to perform physical activities that require the ability to stand, sit, walk, lift, balance, reach, stoop, kneel, bend, feel with fingers, talk, hear, hand/eye coordination
Requires considerable use of the arms and legs for a period of 3-4 hours
Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at a time
Be able to walk a long distance (up to a quarter mile
May be exposed to illness-causing bacteria and viruses.

Desired skills and experience:
Must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency
Previous teaching or assistant teaching position in a licensed early childhood program preferred
Knowledge of the social, emotional and creative needs of young children
Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations. For Infant and Young Toddler teachers, must be able to properly lift infants into and out of a crib.
