Maintain a safe, orderly, and inviting arrangement in all classrooms (including outside play areas) which complies with NBCCs best practices for classroom environments. Conduct ongoing Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP) assessments on children in cooperation with the teaching team. Utilize the Environmental Rating Scales (ECERS) and DRDPs to plan and implement curriculum. Maintain and update classroom documents: posted classroom lesson plans, daily schedules, daily meal counts, monthly menus, classroom rosters, monthly child sign in/out sheets and ouch reports. Report all staff and child illness and absences daily to Site Supervisor in accordance to CDE and CDC requirements. Report to the Site Supervisor, in writing, all injuries incurred by children or staff. In cooperation with the Program Director, Educational Resource Director, or Site Supervisor, coordinate all program activities Parent Orientations, Parent Conferences, and Parent Advisory Committees. Develop meaningful relationships with parents through facilitation of open, responsive communication on a continual basis. CLASS DEFINITION: On a daily basis, assists with the implementation of age-appropriate curriculum and recreation activities at an assigned day care and/or pre-school site; stimulates the interest of program participants while assisting with the supervision of program activities; helps to maintain a safe, secure, clean and orderly classroom and playground environment; and performs related work as assigned. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: Incumbents in the Day Care/Pre-School Teacher's Aide classification are temporary employees and may not advance to permanent status in any District job classification. Hours of work vary based on the daily census of program participants. This classification is distinguished from the Day Care/Pre-School Teacher classification in that incumbents in this classification assist with the implementation of program activities and perform more routine childcare tasks under the immediate direction of a Day Care/Pre-School Teacher or Head Day Care Teacher. SUPERVISION RECEIVED/EXERCISED: The Day Care/Pre-School Teacher's Aide classification receives close to general supervision within a framework of standard policies and procedures from a Day Care/Pre-School Teacher, Head Day Care Teacher, Assistant Day Care Site Director and/or Day Care Site Director.
